Our final game of the group stage tomorrow tea time, Crewe Alex away.
Both teams have already qualified for the knockout stages so it's a question of whoever wins tomorrow (either after 90 minutes or on penalties) will top the group and have a home tie in the next round.
It will be interesting to see who the manager selects for this one, it's certainly a good opportunity to give the returning players some more game time under their belts.

If there was ever a time to play Pierre and Walker up front, this is it.

Apart from the avoidance of travelling, home ties without crowds don't give much advantage.
That said, I'm not sure why we narrowed our pitch with 5 wingers on the books.

Not everybody's cup of team but our only retaliating chance of some glory this season.
You do wonder if we are better away at the moment though.

Rarely can so little have rested on a competitive game. Play most of the youth team with cameos from a few of the senior players who need some game time and prepare for a crucial game on Saturday. Because we are doing much better away than at home there is even less incentive to win this game.

Every little helps this season and so if there is money to be made then lets go there with a full squad, play a strong team, get the win and get the home leg.
And we've finally got a chance to keep things ticking over and get some run going. Appreciate its a shed load of games at the moment and he might want to make changes but I would rather they go there with a strong side and try and keep the momentum going.
After Burton Rickets spoke about that last second goal being the spark and the moment when the season might turn around for the best. We need to keep that going.

confidence is a very fragil thing and winning is all about the mindset a team has and it becomes a habit , back to back to win after such a poor start would help us for the next league game. we also need all the revenue we can get.

We put out strong squads for the previous 2 games, Bolton & Newcastle.
It's been just over a month since we played Bolton and looking back I noticed that Matthew Millar, Sean Goss and Donald Love were both on the bench that evening. I think we might see both Millar and Goss start tomorrow.

I suppose some of the stuffed crusts on here will continue to deride this competition. But if we might get a slice of the money available then we need to get a pizza da action.

I can top that, I suppose some of the upper crust on here will continue to grill this competition. But if we are to get a slice of the dough available then we knead to deliver, should be a pizza cake

I almost wander if Pierre is actually playing up front tonight 😂

Interesting to see how they will line up tonight.
Seems pretty poor to only have 6 on the bench. Is there not enough youth team player who could be added? Even Love gets to sit there!
Presume 343 with Tracey up top just for the fact he is slightly taller than the other two?

Town are without Brad Walker and Jason Cummings, as both are suspended after collecting two yellow cards in the competition so far.

I reckon we'll win this. I reckon we're going to romp it. And then from here until Saturday I and one or two others will be sat with furrowed brow, stroking our beards, deep in thought wondering whether we may have been a little to hasty.
Until Saturday anyhow.
That's my prediction.

shows how weak the squad depth is in some areas yet really deep in others. With Love out of favour, 4 out of the back '5' will play tonight and may well play on Saturday also.
Most important thing from tonight to be honest, is just no more injuries!

Surprised Iliev is not a starter. To me he has looked the safest option among the three keepers this season even though Burgoyne did well at Cambridge.

I guess if Burgoyne is the longer term option it makes sense to get him and his backline used to each other, as I think that is his biggest weakness.

Am I right in thinking Goss isn’t part of our 25 man squad for the league? Meaning even if he impresses tonight it basically means nothing?
