Omar must be having a good old chuckle to himself. why ? cant get in either town or crewes side i bet hes sitting at the back of the dugout with a snood on “can’t get in Crewes side” relentless trolling given he’s started every match of importance for Crewe for which he was available, I doff my cap sir.

Does anyone think that now our pitch is smaller is effecting the style of play at home?

I enjoyed seeing the elegant Goss again. Barnett and Tracey sharp and fast. Worth my ten quid minus eight minutes.

millar had a good first half, zamurek, goss, vela all had good games but barnett, daniels and tracey looked a real threat, tonight tracey had what town have been lacking composuer and clinical finishing whilst you cant expect a hat trick evry game he showed what he can do if you give the ball on the ground, all credit to town for getting back in the game and getting a win also nice to see two youth players getting a run out.
unfortently the defence was yet again very poor we have lost so many games this season from a defence failing to do the basics, failing to track players not sure what the comunication is like but they are not playing like a unit and deserve a haird dryer moment in the dressing room but what other defence options do we have?

Who would have thought that after last season the defence would be the major problem ....

We haven’t got many defensive options. Come January hopefully we’ll get it sorted. Few players moving on and new players coming in.

For those asking about Goss and Love. Not good I could almost understand Love being frozen out as we seem to have options there (shame we can’t seem to find the Love we had at the start of last season, mind) Goss seems an odd one as he does offer something a bit different to our otherwise somewhat stodgy central midfield in the absence of Laurent

Who would have thought that after last season the defence would be the major problem .... the signs have been there right from the off this season, maybe even before at 'mboro, i know different keepers wont help matters especially as they have been having mares themselves, but one thing that ricketts has done before is sort out the defence so hopefully it will come good again

no but i think the goals need making bigger Only at one end..... the times we've hit the woodwork this season, we'd be 8 points clear if they were both a little wider ;-)

Who would have thought that after last season the defence would be the major problem .... True. I just can’t understand it. Does having a different goalkeeper really make such a difference? Serious question. I don’t know enough about it all. But aren’t some of these errors made before the ball gets near the keeper?

Before we go too overboard with the praise for Ricketts are we sure he actually manages the reserves?

Does anyone think that now our pitch is smaller is effecting the style of play at home? It is now exactly the same dimensions as nearly every pitch in L1.

This much maligned "Tinpot" trophy doesn't seem to be so reviled when you can't go and watch it. Normally half the posters are saying they won't go and watch it, now they can't anyway.
As usual the competition proved it's worth as an opportunity to try something different and came up trumps with the entertainment.
I believe the win also puts £10,000 in STFC coffers.

Perhaps the much maligned Beckles wasn’t a weak link and was in fact the glue that held the defence together! Just a thought like.

Blimey, didn’t realise the money involved in this until that comment. A quick check on google, we got £10,000 per win. So £30k earned from the group stage wins. Plus a £20k participation fee. If we win our second round game we earn another £20k. Not to shabby at all.
