Ahead of the big one tomorrow, more ODI cricket today as England play their third and final game against Ireland. England batting first for the first time in this series.
Not off to the best of starts.
61 for 3.Roy, Bairstow and Vince all gone cheaply.
End of the road for James Vince?

End of the road for James Vince? Hopefully. He's had more than enough chances, as has Denly.

Banton out as well. England don't want to waste this position.

Looked totally out of sorts with the bat. Let's see if he can make it up with the ball.

So good to have the cricket back on TV. Although I do wish Sky would give us the option to turn off the commentary,
but leaving the background noise on. Key, Butcher et al just never know when to stop talking. I can see what's happening,
without the commentators blathering on non-stop. Richie Benaud always recognized that the picture does the talking and he just filled in the gaps and important bits. Glad they don't sit next to me at New Road.

Key for England now..make sure you use up all your overs.
Nearly made it!
328 all out.
That was an up and down innings if ever there was one.

Irelamd 203-1 off 33 overs Gem of an innings from Paul Stirling, Ireland coasting to a win. The difference between this game and the last two is that the England spinners, especially Rashid have not got a foothold in the game as Stirling, especially has not allowed them to settle.

250-1 & 200 partnership
Stirling gives Vince a difficult chance but he survives
Balbirnie gets his 100
Mix up and Stirling run out for 142, 264-2
63 off 48
whoops Balbirnie out for 113 b Rashid c Billings

Shame that, Paul Stirling deserved to carry his bat.

I just wish the selectors would pick the most accomplished wicketkeeper available. At this level you've got to take your chances behind the stumps.

Buttler misses another one ๐ค The two best keepers in Div1 last season were Ben Foakes (can't for the life of me understand why he hasn't been given a run) and Steven Davies (class keeper, ex Worc, but his face didn't fit). The best keeper in Div2 last year was Vilas of Lancs but i don't think he qualifies as he is from S.A. (or is it Aus). He was closely followed by Ben Cox (Worc) who is a superb keeper/batsman and Roderick of Glouc (soon to be Worc). Buttler is a great one day player, but he is not as good as Bairstow in the longer format. Think they have both had a good run and now time to give one of the aforementioned a go !!
