I’ve heard from Hoover that a certain player released from a Championship club in the recent past might be attracting admiring glances from Ternhill Communications Towers. You’ve heard f#*k all from me! Nobody will be hearing much as I’m out of the loop nowadays, time nowadays spent on other preferred interests though I have renewed my season ticket, more a fair weather attendee rather than man for all seasons

Not saying there's anything in the rumours and I'd hate to see Pierre go because imo he's our best defender but how much do you reckon we could get for him if championship clubs came sniffing?

Let's face it Birmingham need something, went very close to coming down this time. But they don't have a permanent manager in charge do they? Would think that is first job, then rebuild the team he wants.

Birmingham City will have some money to spend after selling Jude Bellingham to Borussia Dortmund, a deal which could eventually be worth over £30m.
If they want Pierre then it's hard cash please, no player swap thank you.

We need some wide midfield/attacking players. A couple of ex players would suit, Jordan Clarke or Jon Taylor.

McAleny has been released by Fleetwood - it would be brilliant if we could tempt him back here.

Transfer window open as of midnight last night until Oct 5th (5pm). After that there is a " domestic" window 5-16 October. For transfers/loans between PL & EFL clubs, No transfers between PL clubs.

Out of the loanee strikers we had last season Lang would be the one I'd chase.

Out of the loanee strikers we had last season Lang would be the one I'd chase. A few weeks ago was talk of him being loaned/sold to Motherwell but doesn't seem that happened. Still under contract at Wigan and now they are back in League One may be keen to keep him.

who we sign depends on what funds are available and in his last interview on the subject Ricketts did not know after losing £2million through covid. whilst in a stronger position than many clubs. if clubs are struggling they may try to have smaller squads so some players might become available only time will tell. i am sure the club will do there best.

We lost £2 million through Covid? I thought it was more around £250k to £500k? That’s a large portion of the cup run money, that was not forecast so I think we should have the funds that we would have expected, 12 months ago. With the large cash reserve just sitting there, is now the time to spend some of it? A lot of other clubs will be doing things on the cheap this season and it could give us an advantage with signing players. However, it’s a risky time to be splashing out and say if there was a second wave and it led to no fans in the stadium, football clubs will take a fair hit. With Brian Caldwell in charge, I have faith that we will have a sensible approach. My targets would be: GK (O’Leary again? Or someone similar from PL/Championship on loan, always worked well in the past). A CB (if Beckles goes) A LB (only Golbourne there) A creative CM/CAM (McAleny?) A few wingers (Whalley is our only winger! We need to be more flexible with systems as we will just be restricted to 5-3-2) A striker (only Cummings and Udoh)

How have we lost £2 mill? it wouldn't surprise me if we actually gained from covid what I mean is what have our expenses been from march until now compared to what they would normally have been ? they had all wages paid. (they did didnt they ? ) , and had to pay out £20k in refunds and lost out on 5 games of pay on the day fans am I wrong in thinking we came out of that ok ? I know new season ticket sales will be down but thats another matter

I suppose a very big loss is on the hospitality side of the club. The clubs facilities were hired both daytime and evenings for conferences and events. Added to the loss of gate money for last season and the likelihood of a further loss until the new year it all mounts up but I wouldnt have thought as much as two million.

I know new season ticket sales will be down but thats another matter I'm not questioning your thinking but the 'furlough' scheme paid 80% of wages and the club made up the difference. Certainly a big saving on the usual bill but still an outlay. Even so, £2M seems a bit exaggerated I agree.

All clubs face the same difficult future with no crowds or reduced capacity. The debate here is about whether we are relatively well placed when it comes to paying out for new players. Whatever the true picture, I trust RW, BC and SR to make prudent decisions which will mean we still have a club to support beyond next season.

The article states we'd have lost 2 mill if the current arrangement stays until January compared to where we would have been without all this. So safe to say we haven't lost 2 mill up to now, as Pilch says I'd imagine the losses are minimal at best.
