That Hart guy at Burnley is working his way down, so might be worth a punt

Owen Evans. On loan to Cheltenham from Wigan.
Great performance in goal for them last night.

That Hart guy at Burnley is working his way down, so might be worth a punt I heard that Leeds were in the top spot to land him along with Goldson

Of the various systems he's tried with this squad, the ones producing best results for Sam are 3-4-1-2 or 3-4-2-1. We only need a couple of players at most, to fit in to this and work well with who we already have.
I would suggest most urgent are some genuine pace up front (like Lang or Giles.... both did OK, try getting either of them back again ?) With a fit Cummings and Danny Udoh, that combination should be too much for most Div 1 defences. Add a dash of Whalley and even European Championship level defenders can be made to flap and crumble.
We badly need a genuine left sided player with some creativity who can cover a number of positions (like a, or even the, Junior Brown)
Were also missing an alert, hard-tackling, central defensive midfielder, the type ( Ogogo , Grant) that doesn't let a bunch of teenagers give us the runaround, and will also growl at our occasionally sleepy defence when its required (young loanee goalies tend not to). I'm hoping Josh Vela can fit that bill.
Ricketts might well end up at Bolton one day, when he's a more experienced, proven manager. Not yet. Top ten finish next season plus some clear improvement in our creative attacking play are required.

Owen Otasowie. Might be worth looking at on a season long loan. 19 year old 6'2'' American lad playing as a defender/ midfielder for Wolves reserves, seems to play for them on the right of a three at the back. Seen a youtube video and he looks quite handy, with decent pace, some good footwork and he won't be knocked off the ball easily. Also looks as though he isn't scared to use his wrong foot occasionally.

Completely different player to Morrison and all round better player with a higher goal ratio I’d take him on as a squad player without a doubt and imo he’ll have plenty of suitors

I think wing backs, an attacking midfielder and a striker would be the way forward.
Probably a long shot but I would love to see if we could get Nolan back here on loan from Ipswich to fill that attacking midfielder role. He was a bit in and out of their side last year but he might be a potential pick up with the financial difficulties going on in our league next season.
Will Grigg was a target in January, maybe that could be our striker too.

Ian Henderson would be great for a season, but expect there will be others in north west with same idea.

Brett Pitman - set to leave Portsmouth and won’t be surprised to see Ricketts try and get him this time round having allegedly tried before

Great to see Hoover back in his natural hunting ground of the transfer rumour thread.
Looking forward to plentiful variations of "hearing we're in for a lower league player" and "could a team in England or Wales be in for Josh Laurent, I wonder" over the coming months.

www.shropshirestar.com/sport/football/shrewsbury-town-fc/2020/06/19/shrewd-planning-leaves-shrewsbury-town-on-solid-ground/"But Town appear to have their house in order. Last week's list featured just nine players whose terms run out on June 30 – including four youngsters never to have played a senior game for Salop – and passed almost without a blink. In such unprecedented and uncertain times, certainly financially, Shrewsbury's base and foundations are as solid as could be hoped." "Most fans will, like the club, hope that first-team regulars Josh Laurent and Omar Beckles sign fresh terms. But this is not a given. Town were always likely to offer the pair new deals, but both players have big decisions to make. Laurent will not want to pass up a shot at playing at a higher level. He can be an important part of Ricketts' squad, but he will also be a low-risk, cut-price option for Championship clubs cutting their cloth"

Have a look on Deva Chat, Chester's forum. One of the first threads asks Should Chester take a punt and sign Joe Hart, or could they do better? So that's Arsenal and Chester interested. The Emirates or Legoland. Now that's a tough choice.

Eoin Doyle anyone?
Out of contract at newly promoted Swindon but I can imagine there will be a number of clubs interested after his prolific scoring spree last season.
Meanwhile we could well be seeing Anthony Grant back at the NM. He's been offered a new contract with Swindon.

Omar Bogle released by Cardiff City. Might be a decent scorer at this level but not guarenteed.

Hopefully SR sticks with the 4-3-3 we finished last season with. If so the wings would be priority. Two new full backs, two wingers and a centre forward for me. Happy with what we've got through the centre of the pitch. May need to replace Laurent. Sure we'll be in for Doherty again, that type player would be ideal.

I’ve heard from Hoover that a certain player released from a Championship club in the recent past might be attracting admiring glances from Ternhill Communications Towers.

How about Sam Winnall - just released by Sheffield Wednesday, on loan with us briefly a few years back and the obvious Wolves connection.
