Has anyone else tried the Barnard Castle Eye Test Hazy Durham IPA? Mine has been despatched but not arrived yet. I hope the driver’s poor eyesight isn’t delaying him.

Has anyone else tried the Barnard Castle Eye Test Hazy Durham IPA? Mine has been despatched but not arrived yet. I hope the driver’s poor eyesight isn’t delaying him. He's on a test drive to Kathmandu, just making sure his eyesight is 2020 and not Covid19. I am sticking with Boris Bitter, fizzy and refreshing, but no real after effects. It helps me forget life's troubles, like how many children I have.

Not blinded by party loyalty? Maybe because the Tories aren't right wing enough for you.
I've been having a little dig through some of your previous posts and come up with a few of your pearls of wisdom.
leftist “dimwits”,
Corbyn and his clueless cronies
b******s to them, and the Labour Party
Labour and Remoaners
Desperate Remain liars
losers March
You losers want a losers vote
Good to have Donald Trump here
Communists like McDonell
left wing socialist bullies
Corbyn’s a prickly old barsteward isn’t he
When labour inevitably crash the economy again
Labour are nothing but liars
I would hazard a guess that you think Tommy Robinson is a journalist and Nigel Farage would make a great Prime Minister.
* Please feel free to trawl through my historic posts. I dare say you could find some pearlers in amongst them.
Just for the record I am a Labour party member and a trade unionist, so I do have some loyalty to the party, but if we ever get rid of the archaic FPTP voting system I would more than likely vote Green.
We don’t all have to agree with your opinion you know That's not how this new left works old chum.

Fairly unbelievable this thread has 27 pages but then when you see the other anti government topics in the forum not a surprise I suppose. Often thought the forum should be renamed Red and Amber. Each to their own. Roll on the start of the new season.

Oh, come on S27, you surely can find things to criticise in the Boris/Cummings story no matter what your political persausion, try reading the latest John Crace article and tell me you can't see some of the flaws in Boris? link: Sloth-like Boris Johnson escapes capture during fleeting appearance

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/jun/14/dominic-cummings-no-10-vote-leave-brexit-referendum'Dominic Cummings is a lucky man. A couple of weeks ago, Boris Johnson’s chief strategist – and his lockdown-busting trip to north-east England – dominated the news headlines. Now the global outpouring of Black Lives Matter protests and other vital issues in the coronavirus pandemic have captured the news agenda. With the prime minister’s vocal support, Cummings still has a job, and the world seems to have moved on. But Cummings’s continued presence at the heart of the British government is not just down to luck, of course. Johnson’s special adviser has probably the most valuable asset in Downing Street right now: the unswerving loyalty of the Vote Leave campaign that now holds the key levers of power in British politics'.

Cannot wait for Cummings to hit the Civil Service.....and follow it up with the Quangos. Yay, let's get rid of all the quangos.
Now, where to start?
Crown Prosecution Service. They can go, we don't need them.
Advisory Panel on the Standards for the Planning Inspectorate. Nah they just slow things down.
Fire Services College. Do we really trained firefighters? Really?
Commission for Racial Equality. I don't think we need them now that all lives matter.
National Archive. Who needs records these days when we have perfectly good statues?
HM Courts Service. What do we need trials for today? Just vote on FaceBook live and then hang the buggers.
Arts Council England. If it ain't a Banksy, it ain't real art.
English Heritage. I've got my English Heritage in a tattoo of St George on my leg, innit.
I haven't even opened a scratch on the surface of all the quangos in the UK. I would guess that some of them could be considered to be superfluous, but as you clearly see most of them provide a valuable service, many of which are better off being outside of the control of central goverment.
Please pop back and let us all know which ones you think should be disbanded or put under the control of central goverment. I for one can't wait to see Dominic Cummings plans for the Civil Aviation Authority .

I think that part of Cummings cunning plan is to let PHE take a fair % of the blame for the failings of the government to adequately deal with covid-19.
They'll be abolished.

That might not be a bad thing depending on what is then introduced to replace it. It may work out for the best. There have been one or two people over the last month or so who have taken time out to look to the response to COVID-19 in the UK and Germany. One of the things they point to is the structure in place in each country. With the UK model being too centralized, too up/down and as a result, too slow and too cumbersome to react. We'll have to wait and see if people start to proportion blame but that the structure of the organisation may not be the best suited when looking to manage a pandemic, there maybe something in that. It's pretty clear the government and the UK has a lot to learn from this. It wouldn't surprise me if changes are made and that may included changes to PHE.

I suggested on here that the biggest threat to Liberal Democracy wasn't BLM, a grass roots organisation of the disenfranchised, but Trump and the UK government, or in other words, people with power. Trump retweeted someone shouting white power and now a bloke who has served 7 PM's and heads the organisation that provides checks and balances against the excesses of government is going before reform of the CS. There's serious talk of doing away with trail by jury. Interesting battles ahead.

Ive seen a report of an interview this morning with our illustrious leader and when asked about Cummings breaking the rules answered ‘Dom is outstsnding’. God knows what that means but it means times may be interesting but they are also going to be very depressing.

God knows what that means but it means times may be interesting but they are also going to be very depressing. It means that Johnson is too bone idle to do the work and leaves everything to Cummings. It was the same when he was Mayor of London. The Deputy Mayors and their staff did all the work, whilst Boris advantage of photo opportunities, attended numerous dinners and fundraising events, and improved his I.T. and pole dancing skills at Arcuri's flat.
