Wigan fans will be saying the same about last nights game as will every other club in the league about one game or another..................46 game season not just Bury Away, yea it hurts like hell..........but as said Wigan in the same boat this morning.
Our away form is unbelievable imo, totally beyond anything I would ever have imagined of STFC with our "normal" away records, season after season..............
All massive games now starting with in form Rotherham, cant just run out and expect 3 points on Saturday just for turning up........but PH is the expert at knowing that, just hope he can keep getting it through to the players.........coyb

Yea next 5 from 7 at home is the crucial make or break time imo...................have been excellent both Home and Away but if we dont take a shed load of points from these 5 home games a lot of the work done to date will count for a lot less and things could then go tits up.
Getting closer now to last 12/10 games or so when slip ups,by anyone at the top end, really count and games almost become 6 point matches,as its not just the 3 points that count but its the games running down that means you dont have the chance to catch up on others either.
Couple of weeks back I was critical of all this looks like 2 from 3 stuff, with 20 games to go, but as games now start to run out its becoming easier to call.......................even I'll say now its looking,as teams are mostly holding their form, like 2 from 4 but I'm not totally convinced of that yet to be honest.
No doubt about it though for all the good we have done so far it wont count for anything like what it should if we dont really make the most of those 5 home games and get all the points from them that we can possibly get.
Fun time is just about to start, hold on tight and SUPPORT the Lads,no place for knockers now,get behind em and make even more noise if (God Forbid) we ever go a goal down...........thats when they'll need us.......SUPPORTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
COYB we CAN make top two,no doubt about it imo but NOW is where the heavy lifting really starts with 3 points on Saturday.................COYB.......

Well Radio Slops Football expert Mark Elliot came out with "well it looks like 2 from 3 now" for the automatic places with only 18 games to go!!!!!!!!!!!! after yesterdays results
He also said before the game it was paramount we picked up something yesterday as Blackburn were a 3 point banker.
Cant have it myself, total bs if you ask me......some teams hit or hitting awful runs,Bradford City for instance,Scunny slipping up a bit,Charlton look to be over a bad patch and have won 3 on the spin,Rotherham cant get beaten recently, and Gillingham are flying.
I know there is a decent gap opening up but personally think 2 from current top three for the automatic places, is way too premature.
Well I've predicted all final results now for top 12 teams ( and I dont expect to have got any of those predictions wrong, cos I'm a genius) and it seems OBVIOUS (NOT) to me that we will end up 3rd missing automatic by 1 point only which is a bit of a bummer.
Dont know why I did current top 12 teams as Mr Elliot has it down to 2 from the current top 3 ,and I suppose his footballing expertise must count for something, but wondering how many people agree with him or would suggest, which is all I am doing, that it is a tad early for that.
Sadly predicting the outcome of 18 games for only 1 football team, never mind 8 or 9, is a little trickier than I think Mr Elliot would have us believe, for otherwise we would all surely be winning the pools every Saturday and looking forward to beating the Germans to the beach in the morning as opposed to drudging off to bloody work.
Anybody agree with him?,just interested.................

VAR
Jan 27, 2018 23:59:03 GMT 1
Post by shrewforever on Jan 27, 2018 23:59:03 GMT 1
One of its major problems I think it will have is that footballers in general are a moaning, whinging, bunch with little respect for authority, and constantly disagree with and give refs far too much grief over decisions even simple unimportant ones.
They do not accept referees decisions after they have been made, either rightly or wrongly, unlike cricketers, who may at worst ala Steve Smith in the 3rd ODI,just shake their head a little or rugby players, who virtually show no reaction at all.
Therefore I can see problems after it has been used with yellow cards and sendings off even because players are still b***hing about it.
The speed of its use will sort itself out and improve over time imo as will the crowds understanding what is happening when reviews are seen on big screens as soon as var is called for.
As said initially however I can see some dodgy incidents after its use with 22 Roy Keanes for instance not accepting the final decisions and taking out their frustrations of what they considered as a perfectly good goal being ruled out with some emotional reckless and dangerous tackles etc straight after the event.
It is important decisions made are correct however, which was the case in tonight's Liverpool game, which has to be a good thing, and as I said I'm confident its usage will over time become less time consuming and the communication to the crowd as to what is under review and why will also improve.
My fear for it is,even though I'm in favour of it, will anyone ever make the players themselves more accepting of it.
Not one of my better posts.....I have tried to make a simple concern I have somewhat clumsily I think.................but its too late to re write as I'm off to bed.

This story was in the northern press day after the game,I certainly read it somewhere.
A Parent had complained to the Police that Henderson had thrown some coins back into the crowd which narrowly missed this guys young lad.
Blackburn will be punished no doubt.
Not downplaying the seriousness of this but coin throwing is one of the sickest and dangerous things any hooligan can do,player could lose an eye quite easily.
Sorry though but Henderson like all pros has to be above such stupid, crass and mindless behaviour, understandable as it may be.He could of taken someones eye out as well.........yes I can understand him behaving like that but it is impossible to condone.

Like to have League one or two club if we get to Wembley but giving Chelsea under 21s/23s whatever, a bloody good pasting would hopefully put an end to their shameless and farcical participation in this competition

Correct criticism of the playing surface yesterday by modern standards..but whenever I read anything like it I cant help but remember the pitches of old which made yesterdays surface look like a billiard table.

Blackburn and Charlton both win and season over, absolutely critical neither of those two get anything tonight
Blackpool and Peterborough both win.......still with an outside chance of a top half finish............
Should sum up the general feeling usually on threads like this one with only 28 games or so left to go..........
