Shrews were poor but can’t see why that goal was disallowed??? Didn’t look any offside in build up I thought Udoh was offside, I'm sure there will be a video of it somewhere soon. Without VAR would never have been given but by the laws of the game in the first phase of the attack Udoh was offside - harsh I suppose but is correct in the laws of the game

Thank goodness Liverpool didn't play their first team, based on tonight it would have been absolute carnage 😕

Certainly sounds like a chance to progress has been missed.
I really thought we might have got a result here. To lose to a bunch of kids, albeit very talented ones, must have some knock on effect for the rest of the season. We need Tranmere to keep losing, as if we keep playing like this, we aren't going to get too many more points on the board.

The stream I watched suggested Golbourne was offside in the build up. I’m pretty sure Whalley was also offside as Edwards hit the initial shot too

Typical Shrewsbury - we never turn up when it matters - I’ve got that Wembley p**sed off feeling again. Team tactics bloody awful - we bring on Cummings with just 15 minutes to go - joke.

Ricketts and his staff certainly need to get the players up for some very important home games that are coming up now. Tonight was just a continuation of the recent poor form and that has to be stopped and quickly!

Can people such as tvor please stop repeatedly spreading untruths. It was Golbourne who was offside, from the previous phase of play.

That wasn’t offside for VAR disallowed...Liverpool player in RB position (67?) playing on by a yard.

Whalley was onside I think but Udoh (I think, may have been Golbourne as others have said not sure) was offside in the buildup. Really need to see the video to be sure though.

We need Tranmere to keep losing, as if we keep playing like this, we aren't going to get too many more points on the board. I think it's more the manner that it was missed that will be the concern. We were up against a side who's average age was 19, had struggled this season against other League sides yet tonight, for the most part, dominated the game. For the first 45 minutes we weren't even a factor. We were a tad better in the second half. That were it. It was awful from Town. And I do wonder what impact that is going to have on the rest of the season.

Unfortunately Ricketts tactics have lead to a situation where if we lose on Saturday, or play boring s**t defensive football, the crowd could turn on him. Only the fa cup run has stopped this happening before now

Liverpool's kids turned up and we didn't! Unfortunate way to lose, but they could have won by a lot more. Worst thing is Klopp and the BBC vindicated!

Golbourne? Udoh? Does anyone know? Joyless, bloodless VAR is for the pedants who should stick to chess. But anyway, I’m getting that we deserved nothing so forget it. Nothing to get excited about this season now. Flat.

this feels like Wembley groundhog day all over again; town had stage fright / over awed by Anfield which lasted for the first half. all credit to a well schooled liverpool youth team who controled the game , were good on the ball and had town on the back foot for lengthy periods of the game.
disapointed that town were unable to replicate the performance from the previous game, disapointed that towns goal was disalowed by VAR feel very sorry for poor williams to score an own goal that put us out of the game but Liverpool desrverd the win frustrated we just blew a great chance to get through to the fith round town just did not show the attacking intent we showed in the previous game, we had a brief spell with 30 minutes to go and that was it.

PS: thought the Liverpool fans were great! Never got on the kids backs once, just constant encouragement! I think Town fans can learn something from them!

Once we put a few crunching tackles into them at the start of the second half they completely fell to pieces and the game was for the taking. We lost tonight again because of horrendous mistakes defensively and it’s snowballing for me.
