The big highlight of tonight was not the come back or the three points, although they were delightful, but it was the performance of Goss.
He looks like a heck of a signing. Pinging passes all over the field and a great set piece too.

That was another fine mess you got us into Stanley, but Uncle Sam has the answers.

Early indications are that Ricketts has recruited well this summer.

It’s early days for Goss but looks like a player with a lot of class.

After a reasonable start we let Accy into the game and they then started to dominate midfield. The penalty was st the opposite end to us so we had no idea who or why. I certainly am not criticising anyone when I had no idea what happened. After that we were second to every ball and the second goal was no surprise. We then started to get the ball forward much wuicker and Accy looked like rabbits in headlights when faced with pace. Their keeper gifted us the first wirth s Cross he should have done better with. The second was pure quality and as well as Udoh did for the third, the centre back should have cleared it and then the keeper could have done better. Great resistance from the lad though , and a real old mental on the away end. Good night until a read the usual drivel from PC Plod, who doesn’t seem able to spell user names correctly. We will only get better now, with zero-Shaun, Ollie and Josh soon to come back. It is now hissing down up here around Warrington, but who csres?

Been chopping up logs so I missed the game on iFollow but pleased to hear Goss getting good reviews. He seemed to be playing far too deep on Saturday meaning the midfield was too spread out which also affected Edwards. That said I can’t see McCormick getting much game time once Laurent and Norburn are back fit.

Only watched on IFollow, but it was really enjoyable football - credit to both sides, sometimes things can get over analysed. Coming back from the dead is always good!

I think the inspector replaces the ‘k’ in your username with a ‘c’ to mimic how you have done the same for months with Beckles. I’ve noticed it too and always wondered if it was out of ignorance or disrespect. I sincerely hope for your sake that it’s the former.

A mighty fine game of football. Stanley looked a really good outfit but for the first time this season, we had our own very very good passages of play. Morison, after two extremely poor games, was actually a big part of a performance that created numerous chances prior to Accrington racing into an underserved 2 0 lead.
McCormick was the weak link tonight but hey ho.
Amazing comeback & delighted to enjoy most of what I saw tonight. Super impact from the subs to turn it around.
Goss was fliping superb.
Yesssssss.

Would normally be all over this fixture but with the sorry state of affairs on the pitch I can’t be bothered. Will be listening in & while of course will be hoping for an away win, I’m expecting a one or two nil defeat & the managers head Wednesday morning. I’m sorry, but it really is that bad! Wake up! bet you went really!!

Fair play, couldn’t get a shot on target up until 85 mins even though it wasn’t for the lack of trying, pleased for Fey and Udoh, start them both on Saturday.

Credit to SR for his subs - I just wish he’d take the shackles off the players from the off & stop trying too hard tactically. This is League One not the Premier League. Great night tonight!

I'm taking the cheaper option of a 5* fortnight holiday with international drinks included in Cuba instead.

Just back
That was a thoroughly entertaining game of footy tonight. Never thought Stanley looked like they could break us down until the penalty and up to that point I thought we were the more likely to score.
Goss was superb as was Max in net and Love at the back
Best game so far for Edwards but disappointed at Giles who overall made little impact on the game
Total mental when the third went in.
So to summarise previous posters in recent weeks
We again had little possession tonight
I don’t know where the goals will come from......

At 75 mins I was mentally composing a post about how enjoyable the game was and a pity about the result.
Udoh and Fey brought speed and aggression at a vital time, it's not clear that they would have the same impact from the start.
How to best use Morison will be a tricky one for SR.

If Thompson hadn’t volleyed mid air after that terrific run it would have been goal of the season......but I did chuckle

Really pleased for Danny Udoh. So much talent in this country. Love it when my Club, Shrewsbury, give them a chance.
Well done young man, savour it, then crack on.

Morison been awful again. New striker please Sam. Totally incorrect, he won most of his headers/duals and found a blue shirt 9 times out of 10. Put in a big shift up top, its hard doing a 1 man press... Still, it wouldn’t be our fan base without a scape goat to abuse

I always love reading the match thread for a game like this. Always amazing seeing the posts just before we have pulled a goal back You should’ve been on the terrace. Ashamed to be stood by some of the abuse of Ricketts and Morrison. It’s totally embarrassing. The hypocrisy to then celebrate match winning subs made by Ricketts. Anyway, really entertaining game, lots of chances at both ends, draw would’ve been fair but won’t complain at the win!

Definitely a good performance from him after two dreadful ones previous.

My £0.02 worth;
Above all else, a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The Crown ground is a great place to watch football. We parked pretty much across the street from the Crown with no issues for free about an hour before kick off and comfortably fitted in a pint and some tasty chips which didn't break the bank. No rushing to the ground for kick off. Ground itself is basic but neat and tidy; great pitch, everything in good nick, nice to be on a terrace. Decent atmosphere considering there were only 2200 there, too, and all for £20. I'll take that over Ipswich/Bolton/etc any day.
As for the match itself, a superb 90 minutes of entertainment for the neutral. Some good passages of play from both sides, end to end stuff, plenty of chances and a dramatic finish.
From a town perspective, what a weird one. Pleased with the result but still not 100% convinced with Ricketts. Opinion seems divided on Morrison but I think it was obvious him and Whalley up front wasn't going to yield anything long before the hour mark and I can't help but feel that had he brought Feji/Udoh in sooner we might have had a more comfortable/less exciting finish.
Still 3 points is 3 points and 3 goals is 3 goals. The acid test for Ricketts in my view is whether he takes whst he's learned tonight into Saturday's game or stubbotnly sticks with his original formation.

There's nothing stubborn about sticking to the same formation. That seems set in stone.
The talking point is who SR starts up top
I imagine he will start with Morison, and rightly so. It's who plays along side him is the issue.
As for the rest, he might tinker, seeing as there are 3 games in the week, but I hope not.

Speaking of which, that was as entertaining as this thread with the ups and downs First hour - open game, two decent sides, we have had chances but missing that clinical edge. Morison has won a lot of headers and link up play is good Next 15 - Absolute rubbish, Rickets is clueless, Morison is diabolical First goal - Typical, own goal, only way we will score Next 10 - This is amazing, what football is all about Post Match - Let's have a look at the table, good times, roll on Saturday
