Enjoyable night with a great result. A few ups and downs on the way with dogs abuse from a vocal minority with Ricketts and Morrison taking the brunt of the criticism before the ‘tactical genius’ Manufactured the result the fans could only dream of with 15 mins to go..... One of the more bizarre chants came from a lone fan who sang ‘ Salopcast is ****ing s**t’ for the entire first half ??

The point Venceremos makes about League 1 sophistication chimes with my thoughts last night.
I was much closer to the pitch than usual and was struck by the speed, power and the technique of the players, all so much advanced from when I first watched the game 60 years ago.
I can't imagine a central defender doing a dragback on the edge of the box like Beckles did last night in Jim Holton's day.
Of course the pitches are so much better and this must be an important factor.

Looking at pictures of away end, why the loose fitting fence in front of fans? Looked a bit unstable?

You have to fear for Accrington this season. The saving grace for them may be the Bury and Bolton situations.

I've only just watched the goals back, couldn't properly see them on Ifollow. Fejiri's finish was absolutely unreal.
Little flick with his heel whilst being man-marked.

Looked like they were in the process of extending that red fencing that goes about a third of the way across the stand. Why they felt that was necessary for the visit of 450 town fans is beypnd me.

Very much a heat of the moment comment, that. All in all, it was an even contest and they were fortunate to have the advantage of some dubious refereeing to give them a 2 goal lead. However, with a defence as shaky as theirs turned out to be, I would be very confident they wouldn't beat us in the next 9 games! I think we could edge that series. Not sure about that, the penalty shout which ended in Clark being booked for simulation looked more like a penalty than not. It's difficult to say, from the highlights, about the penalty that was given but Beckles appears to be the only Town player protesting about the decision at the time. I'm not sure about Coleman's remark that they would beat us 9 times out of 10, but they probably would beat us 9 times out of 10 from 2-0 up. For all the positives from last night and the confidence it should give the players we shouldn't forget that we were 0-2 down and I'm sure Ricketts will be working on things related to that.

They needed help from the ref to get anywhere near us and we are probably a mid table team. Worst team we have played this season.

It will be even more of a selection headache should one or more forwards join the club!

I think the inspector replaces the ‘k’ in your username with a ‘c’ to mimic how you have done the same for months with Beckles. I’ve noticed it too and always wondered if it was out of ignorance or disrespect. I sincerely hope for your sake that it’s the former. Wow. A spelling mistake? On B&A? Surely that can’t be allowed. Just out of interest, many English surnames are derived from places, and having spent the last 12 years of my working life in a Mail Centre, place names and their spellings ( and Post codes), become second nature. I (wrongly) assumed that there may have been some connection with the town of Beccles on the A12,in Suffolk. How silly of me, and how clever of our resident wannabe copper, who also insults Hoover by omitting a letter “o” from his user name. Oh and if it’s disrespect you are monitoring, look at some of the posts about our manager over the last 8 months. A creative response but I suspect that the Beckles family did not originate from a small market town in Suffolk during the Middle Ages!

Maybe not, but I would imagine that Beckles is probably not a typical surname in whichever African country his family originates from.

All about opinions but I thought Accrington played well and deserved to win, they were first to every bouncing ball in the middle of the pitch, good first touches and got the ball forward quickly. Ricketts is clearly feeling the pressure, did anyone else notice him by the corner flat clenching his fist and shouting "come on" to himself?

Sam Ricketts in the corner , clenching his fist and shouting “come on “ ? Are you sure you’re not getting him mixed up with Bizzy ?

I’d be feeling the pressure too, when a clueless vocal minority of our fan base want him sacked for having us 8th.

not sure what fans wont / expect from Ricketts last season after four games we had two points and some fans were clamouring for askey to be sacked, this season we have seven points and narrowly lost the one game . i am confident that Southend fans would be very happy to trade places with us i tend to look at htings after 10 to 12 games we will miss pierre when he goes on international duties
