Arnold should be dropped.
I don’t think Waterfall has been as bad as people are making out. A few mistakes but some very good performances too. Put Williams alongside him and they should compliment each other well.

Ask Mark Elliot what formation should be used and who should play - seems like he knows everything judging by his commentary (certainly not a summariser), if ever a man loved the sound of his own voice

FFS, Waterfall wasn't to blame for any of tonight's goals as far as I could tell. Arnold made a mistake, as did John Ruddy, but was also praised by the 5Live commentators for some good goalkeeping.

Why should Arnold be dropped?
As for Waterfall, it was beckles that caused their 3rd goal despite what that prat on radio Shropshire said.
Let's wait for feedback from fans that actually went to the game before sharpening our pitch forks.

I think Waterfall will benefit from having pace alongside him (Williams). He has often been dragged out of position and doesn’t have the pace to recover. If he is used as the dominant aerial CB, with Williams sweeping behind with his pace, that could be an effective combination.
As for Arnold. I’m afraid I have not had much confidence in him since he was given the spot. If Coleman was dropped for poor performances, Arnold shouldn’t even be in the squad!! For a 6’5 keeper, his aerial ability is non existent. He doesn’t command his area. He is slow getting down. And his kicking is appalling. For someone whose full time job is playing football, to not be able to keep the ball between two lines 55 yards apart, whilst taking a kick under no pressure whatsoever, is a disgrace. The saves that he has made of late, have generally been hit straight at him. Granted, that is partly down to good positional sense, partly to poor finishing.
Unfortunately, there can’t be much confidence in him. Contrast that with Henderson!

Both are fine. Sadlers is the issue. I don't know anything about Williams but I'd be tempted to try out:
Bolton - Waterfall - Williams - Haynes

I have to say I'm not Waterfalls biggest fan but I can't help but think after tonight that Mark Elliot goes on a Preemptive Strike for him everytime. Even Mr Telford Nick Southall was being Devil's advocate in the post match chat.
'Right now I need two positives, one to cancel the out the negative and one because I can have a positive'
Maybe those Positives are Ryan Sears and Shaun Whalley.

Talking with fans on the way out and we felt Waterfall had a good game. To be honest I’m getting a bit sick of all the criticism he gets when it’s unjustified.
Make no mistake the team did well against 12 men.

Mark Elliott should listen back to that to see how a proper summariser does his job.

Mark Elliott knows as much about football as a potato does.
He's a chancer.
Giving it large with his so called expert opinions but he's got no experience or background in football. He literally knows nothing.
It's an echo chamber.
He says something controversial. Then people ring his show to complain.
And he doesn't get found out because the fans at the games don't hear it.
It's nonsense and it's damaging the football club. He needs to wind his neck in.

Waterfall does a job. Heads well makes tackles but he gets drawn out of position and is so slow. I think he distribution is what let’s us down most though.
He’s been an ever present since he’s come in so the managers must appreciate him but there have been a lot of individual errors (he’s not the only one). I’d like to see what we’d be like with Sadler, Williams and Beckles at the back but can’t see that happening.
As for Arnold- he seems very hesitant. Will start to come and then retreat back- doesn’t seem to back his gut and doesn’t seem to dominate his area and other players. Kicking isn’t great and footwork seems a bit laboured but so far it’s only cost us a few goals and Ricketts seems happy with him. Personally I’d like to see Mitchell given a chance.

Watched waterfall closely first half . Thought his general “defending” was ok. He’s just prone to calamities thought . His marking off corners is terrible his man lost him every time . 3rd goal cleArly is not his error but looked like he was towing a caravan compared to the wolves bloke who breezed last him. He’s just not good enough.

Re: Elliott’s summarising.
I reckon he gets his topics of discussion from here, sees what is trending at the time, and then plays to his audience trying to endear himself to the populist point of view?
Loves the sound of his own voice too! Why say one word when 50 will do?!

But, Mr Beckles had the chance to play safe and instead, decided to show off his skills(?). You don’t try beating a player when there is no cover behind you. Still, no worries, let’s just blame Waterfall. Certainly agree with the Muppet comments about Elliot, and I formed that opinion from the first time that I heard him. Football as we all know,, is all about opinions.

Yea as Mark Elliot has come up in the conversation a couple of times and as I am now restricted to listening to the plonker instead of being able to attend matches in the flesh........it has to be said he is the most the self opinionated, narcissistic, numpty to ever utter on a word football.

A summariser on the radio being a scapegoat is a new one. Just because you don’t agree with someone’s opinion..... jheeeeeez.
Thought Waterfall was fine tonight, often is, but has a mistake in him. Does more than Sadler this season, though. Arnold lacks basics a lot of the time and probably lucky to be a League One footballer.

****in hell if you run out of people to blame blame it on the radio commentator . He gives his opinion , that’s it . You’d all be complianing if the analysis was vague and non existent .

Back to topic. Waterfall must not play for us again. I have seen tankers turn quicker. He does a job when up front with his headers but is an accident waiting to happen in defence. I take no pleasure in these comments but feel he is costing us too many goals.
