That's a blow. I was hoping it would drag on for another couple of weeks. Bleedin heck JT, is that all you can say?
No it isn't now you mention it.
Coming away from Wembley in the play-off final was the lowest ever feeling I've ever had following Town, (and I'm 38).
So if he's looking for sympathy from me, it's in the Oxford dictionary between s**t and syphilis.

Have a guess who will be in the stands on Saturday now?! After Karl Robinson's job then? That Bradford Chairman is surely likely to be offloading Hopkin soon though surely?

Seem to remember that Bradford boss Hopkin was rumoured to be in line for Town job before JA.

“Ipswich paid a significant compensation package to acquire Hurst from Shrewsbury, who were not keen to lose their manager.” Nice slight dig there from the star 😂

Agreed JT. If ever there was a candidate for someone to be shot with a ball of his own s**t, it’s Hurst. Wembley still hurts me.

Was also hoping Ipswich would hold out a bit and keep Hurst suffering for a bit longer. I'm sure some other sucker of a team will give him a job soon, but as far as this whole episode is concerned its rather nice to see the football gods give Hurst and Ipswich a good kick in the balls for the way they acted in recruiting him.

I understand ‘Long Melford FC’ are interested in Paul Hurst. They play in the Eastern Counties league - only 30 minutes from Ipswich. They need a boot cleaner.

Oh, and can we have Toto back in Jan please? You know he's "not good enough" for the Championship. I’ve already texted Toto the offer......I assume that is standard protocol for Ipswich ?

League One and League Two clubs will know exactly what they will get with Hurst: someone who flutters his eyelashes at every more attractive job that comes up. He is little more than a pound shop Rowett. However his time with Ipswich Town has been good for Shrewsbury Town: quids in and we have Emmanuel on loan. As for last season: Hurst has no idea why things worked as well as they did, and he carried forward his league form from the tail end of last season into this one. May be we should enquire whether Nolan and/or Nsiala are available on loan from January. Nolan will do nothing in the Championship without his adoptive dad in charge. Nolan did nothing in the championship for his adoptive dad and Toto was giving away penalties for fun. More fool Ipswich.

Boom, boom, a quip worthy of Mr Askey himself. I thank you. (One of your better ones, but that wasn't too difficult )

If we'd lost on Tuesday, would people feel differently tonight about having Hurst back here?
Personally, I don't want him but it might get tempting if we're rock bottom in January and Hurst is out of work still. And it could well be that if we don't sign him then one of our relegation rivals will.
Hopefully JA can get our team going upwards now and by January we'll be mid-table, last thing we need is a Paul Hurst side grinding out points from below us in the table.
Maybe (gulp) Hurst can still have the last laugh yet.

Now, now, stop it or you'll have Fran along to tell you that you are pathetic, miserable and bitter in a minute. Totally agree with what you and JT say, felt like a kick in the balls that day and was further compounded when he slithered off to Ipswich as expected.

I am pretty confident that Mr Askey would never treat our beloved old club with the same disdain as the ‘slithering one’
Loyalty still counts for something in my book...

I was going to post earlier having heard the sad news on sky sports. Unfortunately I couldn't get to my keyboard earlier as I have been rolling around the floor, laughing my ****ing arse off!!!
Commiserations to the weasel!
I'm sure there will even be a wry smile in Wycherley towers tonight!
