There's a 9 minute interview on uTube from when he joined Ipswich. In the comments below, the tractor persons are well excited. I'm going to sit down with some diet coke and popcorn and watch it later.

I've some sympathy for him, if you forget the the manner of his exit he was a likable bloke who did well us. Indeed but the manner of his exit can't be easily forgotten.

Ipswich Nando's report a booking for 3 tonight. No starters or mains, just desserts which is humble pie and raspberries.

Inevitable he will end up facing us this season. No Championship club will take him now but any League One clubs who have a vacancy will refer to our season under PH and consider it, bound to take a job at this level and face us at some point.

That's a blow. I was hoping it would drag on for another couple of weeks. Bleedin heck JT, is that all you can say? I was expecting the full repertoire from you to celebrate the 'slithering ones' demise. Funnily enough I watched Damned United again last night and instantly thought of Hurst / Cloughs attitude to their Chairmen, they had a lot in common.

Well I can safely say that this news has put a full Cheshire Cat grin on my face for the rest of the night.
Just need his 'great mate' at Rotherham to get relegated/sacked to make the day a tad better

The manner of his leaving and the day at Wembley can never be forgotten or forgiven for me. I would never want him back here ever for those reasons alone.
Yes last season was good but the club have had other good seasons and hopefully will have more again even if I'm not around to see them. The club and the fans are bigger than any Johnny come lately (literally and metaphorically in this case).
If he had left in a proper manner and behaved better towards us and the club I would be feeling sad for him tonight but he didn't so I'm not.

Superb news. The d**k heads on here giving it "let it go". I'll repeat..THAT LITTLE RAT WAS THE IPSWICH MANAGER WHEN WE ALL PAYED A SMALL FORTUNE AT WEMBLEY IN MAY. The dream is still on though as they have to PAY the remainder of a three year contract dished out to all of them. This may finish Ipswich. Riddled with debt and bottom. Cheers ๐พ๐พ

Well tonight fans of Town ,Ipswich and Macclesfield must be asking themselves what the hell was all that about. Let's hope our season now continues its improvement and all this will be history by next season.

The three of โem should be put in a sack and dropped in the Severn. At some time in the future we will get to know exactly what happened pre the Wembley final, who knew what, why text messages were used not direct contact, when the initial contact was made by Ipswich and why did he feel it right to disrespect a club who gave him โ a chanceโ and treated him well throughout his tenure with us.
I can live with him wanting away, just front up and be open about it. The way it was done did not show Ipswich in a good light, and would never have happened under the Cobbold family, ( as per The Shropshire Tenors previous posts).
I am not a bitter man, I would just like to see the Three Amigoโs die in a crock of their own s**t.

What makes this news even sweeter is the fact Ipswich mustโve been speaking to Paul Lambert whilst โSnakeโ was still in the job..

Well, I suppose that's the end of the Ipswitch thread, won't be missed.
It's Macclesfield for him, time to rebuild the career.
Skitty finds out the hard way not to follow the manager. I suppose they had all just set up house there and there aren't many other football jobs within travelling distance of that part of the country.
What a week, JA seems to turn the corner and PH crashes out.

I'm on the don't want Hurst back and support JA side. Hurst gave up on us well before the play offs he doesn't deserve our loyalty. JA wants us to succeed and yes he has struggled but I hope he will turn it round given chance. He on a right mess thanks to PH and had to rebuild the team from scratch.

why even consider having him back ?
he had his chance to stay and instead of concentrating on a play off final his mind was elsewhere
imagine he comes back and turns us around
guess what happens next

So Town's miracle season 2017-8 didn't even produce a fairy tale ending for Paul Hurst.
Sad inevitability about all this. When he left I thought of Paul Buckle going to Bristol Rovers after a successful period in charge of Torquay. Things went horribly wrong very quickly and he didn't last the season. His managerial career never recovered.
Hurst's plan appears to have been to manage Town for three years or so and establish a reputation at League One level which would give him an opportunity at a bigger club. The successes of last season produced a short-cut and he was unable to resist going to a championship club with premier league aspirations. Plain fact is that he isn't a miracle worker and he was always on a loser at club that expected him to be exactly that.
Now he'll no doubt shortly turn up again in League One or Two to try and resurrect his career. Big irony is that he walked away from a job in league one that was perfect for him to develop his managerial reputation. I wonder if he is reflecting on that tonight?

A big part of Hurstโs ethos was work rate and belief so how could he ever repeat that here?

Oh, and can we have Toto back in Jan please? You know he's "not good enough" for the Championship.

Oh, and can we have Toto back in Jan please? You know he's "not good enough" for the Championship. Get in touch with Marcus Evans at Ipswich asap and just let him know how much he has to pay you to take him and he'll be back on the first bus tomorrow, same applies to Nolan (sadly as I really rate him unlike Toto who was a liability at Blundell Park) That will teach the little sh!t to cup his ear at us when we beat Forest Green in the playoff final, we're both better off without him as Ipswich will be too

Just can't believe what's happened to him over just a short few months. And of course the impact that has had upon ourselves. Crazy how quickly things can change. From hero to zero in a blink of an eye. I guess he'll keep telling himself that you have to take these opportunities when they come as they might not come around again any time soon but he must now be wondering whether it was the right decision; too much, too soon. Expect to be down the Meadow soon anyhows, doubt he'll be out of a job too long and it'll be either the 4th or 3rd and I'd expect the latter.
Wonder if they'll cut their loses completely and Nolan and Toto will be heading off someplace else come the next window.

Absolutely no way we could afford Nolan or Toto back. And I suspect a good few of our fan base wouldn't be too happy either from what I recall on here when they were looking to push through their move to Ipswich...

John Askey is our manager. Hurst can find employment elsewhere. Macclesfield have a vacancy. But can see Bradford sacking their manager again fairly soon. Oxford another possibility.

League One and League Two clubs will know exactly what they will get with Hurst: someone who flutters his eyelashes at every more attractive job that comes up. He is little more than a pound shop Rowett.
However his time with Ipswich Town has been good for Shrewsbury Town: quids in and we have Emmanuel on loan.
As for last season: Hurst has no idea why things worked as well as they did, and he carried forward his league form from the tail end of last season into this one.
May be we should enquire whether Nolan and/or Nsiala are available on loan from January. Nolan will do nothing in the Championship without his adoptive dad in charge.
