Was also hoping Ipswich would hold out a bit and keep Hurst suffering for a bit longer. I'm sure some other sucker of a team will give him a job soon, but as far as this whole episode is concerned its rather nice to see the football gods give Hurst and Ipswich a good kick in the balls for the way they acted in recruiting him.

Rumours circulating that John Askey has been seen at Ipswich services talking to their chairman.

An excellent thread.
There was, however, nothing more enjoyable than fastidiously checking how many Ipswich had conceded every Saturday afternoon.
I’ll have to switch to Wrexham now instead.

I was thinking today how we as a club praised Norwich when they signed Holt from us as we said they did everything in the right manner whilst other clubs were trying to tap him up. That along with having Morris and Godfrey last season makes them a club I like to see do well.
As for their rivals, going about signing JN,Toto and speaking to PH all in the wrong manner, it’s such a shame to see them in L1 in next season while Norwich will be in the PL!

Ipswich are relegated. I couldn't be happier, hope it ruins them, what a lot of snake filled phone tapping up *********'s. So, Toto, god works in what ways? Jon and him to come back now?

Although it hasn’t worked out for Nolan or Toto, they’ll be very useful players for Ipswich next season at this level, maybe that was their plan all along!
Sure they won’t be too bothered, just need to check their bank balances to raise a smile.

I'd like them to be joined by Rotherham for ruining my day out last year and with Warne and Hurst being best mates on the touchline throughout the game.

Looking forward to giving Marcus Evans a "warm" Shropshire welcome when he visits the Meadow next season. Wonderful to see his skulduggery rewarded with a relegation.

Meanwhile, over on the Ipswich forum, it's suddenly dawning they're going to be trekking over to the hell of the Shropshire countryside next season www.twtd.co.uk/forum/456980/into-the-abyss-we-go-then/#31I've been to Shrewsbury and Accrington in recent years so if the standard of facilities, games, players etc doesn't improve miraculously over the summer it'll be fairly miserable. Especially if we're not winning.

There has been no change at Ipswich since Hurst left so it appears all was not well when he went there and he isn't the rubbish championship manager he was made out to be. Find it really strange that he isn't in employment yet especially with the number of jobs which have been available this season. I have joked earlier this season that maybe our CEO is not giving him a very good reference but maybe there is something in that or maybe its just that he has enough money from Ipswich to tide him over til the Rotherham job comes up. I think he could certainly have done something at Bradford, Southend or Walsall even if just on a short term contract til the end of the season. Anyway a good day at the office yesterday with town winning, Sc***horpe losing and Ipswich relegated.
