And pathetic, you forgot pathetic. This may actually be enjoyable if the comments were actually any good. I don't expect anything from the already established brain-dead Shrewder and Czarcasm. If JT would make a little effort this may become fun. Deary me Franny, I did politely request a short while ago that you keep your sanctimonious views to the cricket thread but unfortunately you were unable to heed my advice. Your hoiler than thou attacks on some of the b&a’s most esteemed posters has made you the embarrassment of this board and (in the words of Hailshamshrew) you seem like a nasty piece of work. However unlike the aforementioned I’m not going to suggest that you could be a “top bloke” in person. What you don’t seem to be able to realise is that you’re the most salty and pathetic person continually spouting virtriol at all and sundry on here just because they don’t share the same opinion as you. Go and have a cold shower. Totally agree. He seems to have overlooked that when Town went into the Wembley Final, that it looked very likely that the Ipswich job was a done deal. Now it's not exactly rocket science to know which two players PH wanted. Had Town won at Wembley they may still have moved on but they would have been in a much stronger position to retain them and offer improved contracts. If PH had been open and honest about the whole process then no one would have had any problem. He was always going to leave but the events surrounding the final leave a very bitter taste. We may never know what really went on that day and how much that affected the performance on the pitch and perhaps it is best we don't know. Now if some think that's an acceptable way for a manager to leave the club then so be it. Still it looks like the this thread will soon have ran it's natural course and the results over in East Anglia will just be of passing interest.

Very interesting comments. Several of them mention his lack of interest at Wembley indicating that it isn't just us with a biased view of the day criticising him. Also the Grimsby fan stating that Doig was sent out to deny they were moving to us. It does seem that PH just can't see his faults. Criticising his own players sounds bad too. Presumably some of them are ex Premiership? They certainly won't like being told by some jumped up little twerp that they're not good enough even if he happened to be right.

If you and JT are this board’s most esteemed places then this place’s standard has become utterly dog poop. Someone just said that hatred is based around assumption. You’re all mad we didn’t go up after getting so many points. You’re trying to pin it on someone and he is the most likely. The best people in this club are those that the pain of that and moved onto this season. You are pathetic. You and your friends talk about Hurst as if he has just murdered seven children. You are living in the 1960s when money hasn’t massively taken over football and there was loyalty, probably because there wasn’t so much money involved. You may think I am nasty, to be honest I don’t really care. But at least I’m not you and I have more mental strength than a Brussel sprout, which you clearly don’t. You can’t deal with any sort of disagreement or someone challenging your views. Aren’t you having fun? This is what a forum is about. These esteemed posters you talk of are just robots that spout the same cr@p. This thread has gotten way out of control and should be closed. It’s turned into some sort of war between me and some members. The best thing for everyone is closing it because it’s quite clear neither of us can walk away or resolve our issues, being 12 year olds probably has something to do with that.

Blimey, where did that come from... Still, I very much have an interest in how Paul Hurst is getting on at Ispwich so no need to shut down the thread. Might be an idea though if those who aren't that arsed just leave it. Which I think has been pointed out on numerous occasions already...

When PH leaves Ipswich and is appointed at a lower league club will this thread continue and therefore for the rest of his career. I think most of us wanted to see him fail at Ipswich but probably that should give us the satisfaction we craved and that should be it.

Of course, and all those involved have probably gone too far. Especially Mrs. Czarcasm. Keep an eye on her! And I am sorry, Shrewder etc okay? But somewhere along the line this has to stop. So I will take a knock on my pride so nobody gets upset anymore. PH is a w****r etc..!

Herr Fran racks up more posts in one morning on this thread than Paul hursts side has scored goals this month.
Peculiar obsession with making vegetable related intelligence slurs too. Something we ought to know?

Just a thought, people on here ripping into each other over their contrasting views about PH and his performance at Ipswich. I can imagine PH reading this thread and p**sing himself laughing, perhaps telling his wife “ have a look at this love , started off sticking the boot into me , now they’re attacking each other , what a bunch of f.ckwits”. Very amusing don’t you think?

Unfortunately, none of these comments from the Ipswich fans, and one Grimsby fan, are remotely amusing. 'Serious doubts about his character when he was clearly talking to Evans prior to Shrewsbury's play off final. Shrewsbury's woeful performance in the final was another early indication of his overhyped abilities'. 'Play Off Final Shrewsbury were nothing short of woeful. Biggest game in the clubs history & they didn't turn up'. 'Shrewsbury play off final players looking for inspiration and he stood there hands behind his back accepting what was going on and never really went for it'. 'A few months later after breaking up the promotion squad he left the club to go to Shrewsbury just two days after his mate Doig was put up to speak to the press and totally deny they were leaving'. (Grimsby fan). 'He bottled the Play Off Final with Shrewsbury'. 'I watched the Shrewsbury play off game, saw how cr@p Shrewsbury were, how he did not seem to care from the touchline and how bloody useless Nolan was'. The comment from the Grimsby fan is particularly enlightening.

I feel some sympathy with Ipswich fans as I regard Ipswich FC as a slightly bigger version of Town. We are both a little isolated and mainly rural communities and have at times in our history punched well above our weight.
I saw the Ipswich title winning side of 1961/62 a couple of times and they were great fun with their collection of veterans, has been's and never were's winning the League under the genius of Alf Ramsey. There was a poster on this board who was related to a member of that team, can't remember who though.
Later they had another great manager in Bobby Robson and another fine footballing team.
All this under the somewhat eccentric ownership of the Cobbold family. Sir John was a proper English gentleman who would have been aghast at his successor and his underhand poaching of another club's manager.

I actually only know two Ipswich fans - one for my own reasons I couldn't give a damn about and another who I feel for.
Also on the Ipswich board is another post from someone who has supported them for 50 years and, on my reading of it, would be a member of the Sovereign Club here. His take on an event at which PH was present is vey illuminating.
I guess the only thing we can say to them is - don't ever for one minute think he cares about you or your club. If he goes it will be with a big pay off, if he stays we sympathise with you, if he moves on of his own accord it will be to his advantage and no one else's. The only thing is that your chairman tapped him up without approaching us first so he deserves all he gets too.

Good luck to PH in whatever he does in future but there's nowt wrong with anybody having a dig at him seeing as he ultimately achieved nothing here and let us down when we needed him most. He should've been professional and seen the job out. There will be varying degrees of anger towards the man because of that.
This thread has ultimately turned into one that's kicking the little guy when he's down, but if it had gone the other way and he was towards the top of the league then we would still be talking about him on this thread, just like we talk about all out previous managers.
In time, he'll be forgotten, but right now he's still fresh in the mind and relevant as a discussion topic on this forum. I think the PH saga will be forgotten once he gets fired, until then just leave the discussion if you don't want to discuss him.
It's not that hard and not a big deal really.
