From my part, I feel that our biggest lose over the other weekend was Doig, as I am sure that it was his Training Procedures that gave our team the edge over others, and therefore feel that we desperately require to obtain an exceptional Trainer to give the impetus required to have over other teams!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Macc centre back and soon to be out of contract Kieran Kennedy is a possible target alongside already mentioned left back Mitch Hancox - striker Scott Wilson rumoured to be off to Chesterfield

Norwood would be a decent addition. But I rather think he would prefer Portmouth of the teams mentioned partly because of their support but also because his family live down on the south coast so I ams ure that would be a pull

Given our excellent relationship with Norwich. Remi Matthews, who spent last season on loan at Plymouth, could be an option to replace Dean Henderson on a long loan deal?

Whoever we bring in will be probably unknowns , i doubt we will ever be able to pay big money any more for tried and tested , when i think back to some of the quality big names we have had here, Gerry Daly, Arthur Rowley, Peter Broadbent, now its all about clubs paying beyond their means money they dont have, im kinda glad that we stick to our principles now ; the quality unknowns are there its just a matter of finding them,

Sounds like he is very much undecided at the moment. I would be disappointed to see him leave.

Do we put a time limit on these offers? Based on what he says in the article it should be an easy decision for him unless it’s a load of porkies and he’s waiting for more dosh...or a call from an ex manager but can’t see him being offered anything at a higher level..

Can't see a Championship club coming in for him but can only presume a L1 club with a better offer could persuade him to leave, if he goes then it could be Abo Eisa's time to shine next season, although if Mitch Hancox does sign that would provide another option down the left.

It used to be four weeks I think? Although I remember Jermaine Grandison and Akpa-Akpro taking quite literally all summer a few years back to sign their new deals, they played through pre season with the offers still unsigned and had only signed days before the league season started! I don't think JA will tolerate any of that though, if they're still undecided by the end of this month then move them on...

I’m a bit confused about Rodman. What does he have to think about? I thought we had triggered an extension in his contract so unless someone comes in he will be playing for us next season? The article makes it sound like he is weighing up and offer to stay or not.

The article makes it sound like he is weighing up and offer to stay or not. But he can decide to put feelers out elsewhere (if he has not had any contact from other clubs, which I wouldn’t be surprised at). He is paid by Town till the end of this month like many players will be in the same situation, now is the time players capitalise on their potential to earn as much as they can - it’s a bit like when your insurance is due for renewal, that is the time to do the business and make a few bob. Hope he does sign for us, but can quite expect clubs even in our league to come in with higher wages sadly.

He is in a position where he has a confirmed offer on the table which he can fall back on if no-one else comes in for him or if alternative offers are less lucrative. Every player who plays for the Town doesnt do it for the love of it. Its all down to wages and who can blame them?

The way I'd interpreted is he has enjoyed being in a succesful side this season and doesnt want to play in a struggling side next season so is looking at what happens with STFC over the summer and any other options. Now you could argue he's not showing much loyalty to a club who plucked up from the bench at Notts County, however the man who brought him in has gone, the squad he played in his breaking up and as a 31 year old non league/lower league journeyman he has had a great season in the third tier of english football and is possibly looking at his last payday at this level - you cant blame him for weighing up his options.
Personally I find it entertaining at this time of year when players are in the local press telling us how much they love the club, best time of their life, adore the fans, would love to stay blah blah blah, you have to take it with a pinch of salt as despite a contract offer being on the table they end up leaving.

Sounds like he is very much undecided at the moment. I would be disappointed to see him leave. It may not just be money, he's 31 and last year was hard work, might even want to step down a league and fix up a two or three year deal. If he just signs the new deal with us he won't know yet who JA is bringing in, one of those JA signings could be his preffered option for Rodders place in the team. If Rodders feels that JA wants him in the team and assembles a squad that looks like they could have a realistic chance of promotion then I think Rodders will stay for one more crack at it.

Rodman will probably be waiting to see who Askey brings in and whether he thinks there is a genuine chance of competing for promotion. It's only natural he will want to see what else is out there if what we have offered falls below his expectations. He's also an intelligent chap and might be angling for more cash from us by hinting he could go.

You can add Elliott Durrell to the mix as he has Shrewsbury connections and is a fine crosser of the ball but as John Askey says in his interview more than one can make the step up but he is targeting just one. Arguably we could do with a left back and Hancox acquitted himself well there last season BUT I gather one of the best left backs in the National league is Scott Barrow who just happens to be at Gateshead where Askeys former number two is Manager

Seems he expects to lose Toto (or Beckles or both) and is getting cover in that area.

It’s clear that our current players are worried about the loss of players thus far. Whilst I imagine most have made up their minds, it’s probably time we got some players in through the door ASAP! Hopefully we can complete a few signings over the next week...

Henderson, Morris, Godfrey, Thomas, Lowe back to parent clubs. McGilivray and Brown gone to rival clubs. Rowley and Riley releases. There will likely be interest in Nolan, Toto and maybe Beckles?? Not sure we will convince Ogogo to sign a new contract? And then there are those others that are out of contract too- Rodman, Gnahoua and John-Lewis!! So that is potentially 16 players out of the club!! We do not have a first team goalkeeper on the books at all!! Other clubs have had a two week head start on us , and are already making signings- including picking our players off!! I would suggest we do need to start making moves in the transfer market pretty sharpish?!

Regarding Nolan, Toto and Beckles surely they leave only on our terms, which is different. You have to discount loan players. Rodman we need to try and keep and Ogogo has as good as gone already.

Rodman is studying for a masters in sports directorship, studying part time could take up to four years , so i would imagine he is looking to secure his football career for the next stage in his life, as we know players contracts are not worth the paper they are written on.if someone offered him a two year contract he will go. at least he is been transparent.
