The easiest thing the management team could do is panic and sign a couple of deadbeats like Ivor Droptit. Then when they don't come up to scratch, every Juan would chew 'is yed off. No panic signings from Mr Askey.
I think a few of you underestimate our new leader. Would you class Loft and Arnold as that... because thats what I think is about to happen!
Dunno. JA says he wants players he thinks he can improve. In Arnold's case, I would have thought JA's assistant would know better than you and me.

I think keeper wise we are clearly shopping for a back-up to a good loan signing.

I got the impression that Town are trialling for a reserve keeper, wasn't Ben Wilson the other keeper?

I think a few of you underestimate our new leader. Agree with this. I hope it rubs off on our opponents, being underestimated did us no harm last season.

He is certainly rated but with no league games at all under his belt its quite an ask to jump straight into league one football as a first team keeper. Guess that means Callum Burton is their number 4 keeper, despite signing a new deal a few months back.

He was at least blooded and will have an idea but it's not great if your new young keeper, who is miles away from home comforts has a nightmare first game. Especially if you're locked into a few months wages. Is that how it works, if a loan player doesn't work out are we stuck with paying him if it goes tits up?

As with Dan James last season loans can be cancelled but, if the window is closed, you can't replace them straight away.

Has it all gone quiet on the Harry Lewis front? Seemed like a deal that would make a lot of sense, not least because he would also presumably take care of the requirement for a “home grown” player in the matchday squads this season.

United have confirmed that Joel Periera will head out on loan this season; may we profit from our prior experiences with loanee GKs from Old Trafford? Would be great if we could.

[br Harry Lewis is definitely NOT happening, my mate works with his brother and said southampton won't let him out on loan and want to keep him as number 3! Apparently he wanted to go out on loan though.

Which sums up exactly why the likes of Springthorpe, Burton and Lewis would have been far better off staying where they were rather than being either in a Development Squad or sitting out the odd match on the bench. Springthorpe is now on the scrap heap, Burton has 1 year left, and Lewis is an unhappy number 3 having not being loaned out.

My Brentford supporting colleague has been asking me all summer when are we going to sign Daniels! And I've been asking him when they're going to show Ryan Woods the exit door!

Well, if that comes off what a great signing. Loads of potential and a player to hopefully compliment Nolan.

Must be a very difficult option to take as a teenager to turn down a premier league club
