Time for him to put that right then! I can't remember in which of our home games he was abysmal, but distinctly remember it as one of the worst refereeing performances of that season. How was he at West Ham and Sunderland? Yes I do remember him being abysmal at home - which doesn't bode well. I was at both West Ham and Sunderland but don't remember leaving either particularly irate!

I watched the game from my armchair and had company in the room in the form of Mrs ST. It's fair to say that she has never watched a whole football match and is a novice in the ways of the game. So I was impressed that she quickly saw that we were bigger, stronger and harder working than Charlton and also that the ref was calm, not easily fooled and allowed the game to flow. I guess we'll still be bigger, stronger etc on Sunday. I didn't think I'd seen a better ref all season, although I thought Charlton were lucky to avoid a couple of yellow cards. Also the best I've seen from Bryn Morris. Agreed. His tidiness, calmness and all round control reminded me of Ryan Woods, Just what we needed last night. He'll surely score one day soon - he's almost scored a few great goals now! Be a nice time to score on Sunday, I’m sure when it comes it’s likely to be as good as Nolan’s last night

Seeing as we are heading into the second leg one nil up, here are some stats on how we have done once scoring the first goal.
Scored the first goal in 29 out of 46 games.
We have won 22 of those games, drawn 5 and lost 2.
When Charlton have conceded first.
Charlton have conceded first in 18 games.
They have won 1 , drawn 3 and lost 14.
Basically, when we have a lead we are very good at keeping it and when Charlton go one down, they very rarely come back.

It's hardly fair that the 4th and 5th teams get more of a rest between semi finals, I know sky have picked the dates but we should definitely have the same rest time. Saturday 12:00 to wednesday 19:45 for Rotherham and Sc***horpe which is somewhat unfair to us and Charlton.

Can’t see it makes any real difference - both teams in both games will have had the same amount of time to recover as each other. Can’t be much fairer than that. If you take your point to ridiculous lengths then the winner of our tie should be more rested than the winner of Rotherham / scunny

We can only hope that the ref on Sunday takes a great dislike to being surrounded by a group of moaning, whingers!!!!
I just cannot believe what a bunch of bad losers they are - it starts at the top and works down apparently. If we are going to moan - they were very lucky to get away with some of their fouls, if they think we time wasted (when was this?), they presumably didn’t come across Fleetwood, etc., during their league campaign!!
FGS why can’t they just grow up - it’s supposed to be a man’s game - just get on with it. One thing any gamesmanship from them on Sunday and we must be on their backs immediately!!

Don’t really see a lot wrong with what he said, to be honest. A bit frustrated but acknowledged they’d have done the same, he’s not at Bowyer levels of saltiness (just read his interview again and it’s more enjoyable every time).

As always, the worry is that the Charlton players will surround the referee to try to get one of our players who is already on a yellow card sent off. Bradford did it with Beckles. As far as I can see, we don't generally lower ourselves to such manipulation.

More his incessant timewasting at the meadow a few weeks back . Not least his face clutching in the 90th minute as if he'd been bitten by a venomous snake. Then there was the constant writhing last night at contact from Carlton. Rather than use his interview to criticise our 'timewasting' you'd think a captain would look at himself and say he will play better.

All part of the game, eh Jason?

They all seem to have forgotten how much time they wasted at the Meadow in April!
Agreed. Can't stand Pearce - can't wait to give him some stick on Sunday too!!

Great to see our lads back on their normal game again last night.Starting to get that feeling I had in 1979 and hoping that I will have tears in my eyes (for all the right reasons) again on the 27th.
