Looks like we've got our form back!
This will surely give the lads some extra motivation now and get back to the form that saw us finish third.
Excellent performance, well done, gotta be chuffed with that

Cracking second half. Thought pretty much all town players did well. Fully deserved win I think
Great effort and hope they can continue it in a few days.

That second half was really impressive. We really never let Charlton settle nor get a foothold at we were more than capable of taking the game to them. Thought the work rate was superb throughout but special mention to Toto, Godfrey and of course Nolan for a superb performance and an absolute cracking goal. I think looking to Sunday Payne (even on such a short showing) looks a better option than Morris. Can't believe got to go through all that again come Sunday. Can't believe this is what I do for leisure, for fun. Cos no doubt we're going to be put through the mill again, far from over this...

Fabulous 2nd half. Can't fault anyone - the work rate was out of this world. Nolan, B. Morris and Godfrey were beyond immense and Nolan's finish incredible, and just what we deserved for a very committed 2nd half.
Only half way there but that was as good as we could have hoped for at this stage.
Great atmosphere too - even better than the league game.

Anyone else clock the Charlton fan behind the goal with his arms stretched wide thinking it had gone over? Waaaaaaaaaaaay-oh-wait-a-sec....

Nsiala, Bryn Morris, Nolan and Godfrey were all phenomenal I thought. Our midfield 3 won us that game tonight. Kept the ball well and closed Charlton down relentlessly, helped us to absolutely dominate that second half. Like having three Ogogos in there.
We should definitely stick with that tried and tested starting eleven for the second leg and possibly Wembley.
Great support tonight. Let's get the Meadow absolutely bouncing on Sunday.

That’s back to how we were playing 6 months ago, high tempo, not giving them a second to play, maybe the low tempo last few weeks has allowed the lads to save some energy ready for the big push

Another absolutely ****ing magnificent visit to the valley.
We are well and truly back after the last few meaningless games at the end of season.
Everyone involved tonight was truly heroic, not least the fans. I didn’t think it could top the league game there but I think it just did.
Floreat Salopia
Let’s finish the job!

That is a ****ing silly goal. I mean that as the highest possible praise.
Not going to get carried away with a one goal lead, but at least we look back to our old selves and capable of giving our best again. Very few mistakes out there from either side tonight. It's going to be tense again on Sunday.

Definitely a great position and a deserved win, I feel. Carlton did a fair bit of grunt work and as we go in defending a lead is perhaps going to keep his place, but doesn’t offer much threat at all at the moment. But no negatives!
Classic performance - strong, disciplined and a moment of magic from one of our difference-makers. Charlton’s strong start should be a warning: they’ll come flying out again at the Meadow and have the quality going forward. Liked Sadler determinedly refusing to even acknowledge we had done well in his interview - exactly the right spirit.

Best midfield performance for some time. High pressing all round, never letting Charlton settle and some great defensive work. We needed to show a bit more composure at times and if we hadn't had players slipping so much when in possession we might have created another chance or two but great effort all round.
And what a beautiful goal, lovely build up and cushioned header from Payne and then that finish. Terrific.
More of the same please in the second leg.
