If the Blackburn team are as worried about playing Town as their fans then there is an excellent possibility of picking up 3 points on Saturday.

Very pleased to see Harry Chapman out injured. Completely changed the game at our place.

See no reason why we can't get something from this game, from what I've seen and the stats floating about Wigan are certainly a cut above Blackburn. Especially in defence, if we can keep it tight at the back we might be able to nick it. Might be living in dreamworld but if we beat blackburn I think we can be serious title contenders. I would happily take a draw before kick off though.

I've got no concerns about us defensively I just question whether we've got enough going forward to win the game.
A point is a decent result on Saturday but in a legitimate 6 pointer a win would be a game changer.

I would take a draw right now and be happy with it. We do have the potential to take all 3 points though if we can just show a bit more up front than we did yesterday.

We go to Ewood to take three points.
This team doesn’t know it’s beaten and we are in a good run of form again.

Yes indeed . A chance too to shaft their t**t of a Manager ! Tony Mowbay . " We should be beating the likes of Shrewsbury " , says Mowbray as Town deny Coventry 3 ponts. Another Manager who f.cks up but resurfaces at yet another club. COYB - do the business and put Blackburn to the sword .

I see Mowbray has signed Armstrong on loan from Newcastle who he also had on loan from Newcastle when managing Coventry.
Decent signing for them who does score goals at league 1 but has struggled to score in the Championship for Barnsley and Bolton.

This game is , pardon the cliché, a real six pointer.
If we can pull off a win which we are well capable of against Blackburn then we will create a very nice cushion in second spot.
This game is huge in terms of our season so far and I was relieved all of our first team got through against West Ham unscathed to hopefully beat Blackburn and put one over that horrible arrogant Mowbray.

They were concerned, now they're irritated. Little Shrewsbury are really getting under their skin tonight. As well as sneering at our away support, "only 600" going to their place, (which is well out), and it's none of their business anyway, they seem rather excited that our players will be shagged out for Saturday after most of them didn't play this evening. (I expect Dean Henderson will need oxygen to recover).
No doubt their manager, Mike Bassett, will exploit this.

Blackburn don't find winning games as easy these days, without a Sugar Daddy owner.
They've found their true level now, and will be put to the sword at the weekend.

I forgot to mention that Blackburn Rovers have won the FA Cup 6 times (the last time as recently as 1928) so they will no doubt expect us to roll over for them out of sheer respect . Oh wait a minute .... they're in league 1 now just like us and Wigan who have only won the FA Cup once but slightly more recently than Blackburn 😚

we have the third best defensive record in the leagues but as we all know we are often reliant on a win by a goal. we badly need another forward and a winger who can take corners and free kicks.

I well remember Armstrong making our defence look stupid at Coventry. Sadler played left back , he had an absolute shocker as did the rest . We were well off the pace as befitted a s**te side with no idea . Fast forward and we aren't that side ,we are fitter, stronger and confident , playing some great stuff. Armstrong is a good player no doubt but we are a very good side from back to front . Armstrong's not going to save them . I so want us to win this one particularly because of their t**t of a Manager , the square headed f.ckstick . COYB

Addition of Adam Armstong is a worry. Has been a decent player at this level, though not sure how much game time he's been getting.
Evidently Hursty thinks Morris and Payne are good enough up front to get us through. What's worrying me us that if it's new wingers he feels we need, why didn't we have something lined up already? It's 11th Jan and we've signed two defenders.
It's been obvious that this is a huge game and that we would need to pack more of a punch up front to get the result for some time now.
Case of uncle Roland holding the purse strings too tight?

Case of uncle Roland holding the purse strings too tight? I think it's more a case of clubs unwilling to release some players in january. It takes time to get some transfers through. Our system relies on Rodman, Whalley and Nolan getting forward to support the lone striker quickly. They have been off the pace a bit recently in doing that but certainly no need to panic. Arthur is a long way off being a first team regular, he looks lost when we don't have the ball. I can imagine him going out on loan when wingers arrive. There's no reason to think that Morris and Payne won't come good again.

I wouldn’t think so this time as he knows what a gem PH is and would back him to the hilt I would think. More like Ph taking his time and quietly getting on with his business to ensure that the right people come in.

I’m going hoping to avoid defeat, I generally have quite a pessimistic attitude towards Town, away games in particular, so I look at this game and think a draw would be a cracking result.
‘On paper’ their squad is better then ours, they’re at home and it’s almost a must win for them, but with Hurst in charge and the organisation of this side, we always have a chance.

On paper we're 2nd and they're 3rd, by a decent margin at that. No reason why we can't win the game, we certainly shouldn't be going to Blackburn to park the bus.

Case of uncle Roland holding the purse strings too tight? When Hurst was talking about the Tyler Roberts possibility, he said he (Roberts) wouldn't be available until later in January in any case. It's not just about the club looking to do the signing.
