I'm telling you honestly and straight, these players haven't been watched, you really believe what's being said? There's clubs a lot closer to Shrewsbury who would say exactly the same about their under 23 players. The industry is about who's getting offered to the club? Theres not many clubs who will take a player from someones under 23 team with no experience in adult football, why do you think they've been offered to Shrewsbury? Because we're one of a few who're stupid to play other clubs players with no experience, why don't we put trust in our own? We've signed a few more up this season and I hope we all agree are players should be on the pitch before any other clubs under 23 players and if you don't agre to that then there's serious problems. I suppose that you didn't want Kaikai, Roberts, Toney, Ladapo and Payne then? All of whom played major parts in saving us from relegation.

You're so dumb it's unreal. You've just proved my point. Ethan and Kaiman are unproven so wouldn't play and it was right to loan them out to lower teams Taylor played 10/15 games at oxford united and did well and Payne had a ratio of 1-2 for Dover and played 7 times in championship so was a good loan for us. Well done ๐ Proved my point

All the players you've just said are good signing, are you not reading what I'm saying? We are weaker than last season with the signing we've made. True or false? Would you want the team from last season or the one now?

Easy to find that one agent has 5 players at Shrewsbury town๐ฉ

Would you want the team from last season or the one now? But they're young with little experience? They aren't foreigners from other leagues, they aren't proven, that's you're argument covered, case and point.

You're saying we haven't scouted these young lads from Norwich and Swansea, which is just nonsense, yet you want us to scout players abroad? In your world you're saying we don't have the capabilities to scout these young lads but we do have the ability to go over seas and scout? Give your head a wobble.

Who? Payne from 2013 he's played over 120 games and scored 70 odd goals Toney - was on loan in the championship before coming to Shrewsbury and played around 25 games in championship Lapado- played 20 games for Oldham before joining Shrewsbury Roberts - played 15 games for oxford United before joining Shrewsbury
This year are 4 signing are 2 lads who've never played adult football 1 lad who couldn't get into Newports team all last year 1 last who played 16 games in conference
And you are attacking me for saying are recruitment is poor well sorry it is.

Wow some first post.....PH is a liar when he says players have been watched, rather have last seasons team, half of whom were MM's over paid, undermotivated L1 players who us to the verge of relegation, and wants to fill the team with foreign wanna bes of the sort who did so well at the Vale. Just wonder how his friend manages to last a whole game with him...........

Oh and you asked if we're stronger now then last season, with the addition of a striker and a right back which is obviously going to happen, we 100% are stronger, no doubt.

Lapado had 20 games at Oldham with a poor goal ration which you are bemoaning about others. Payne was non-league, another point you're complaining about. Roberts was a youth bench-warmer at Oxford; lacking experience: which you were complaining about. Toney only did well at league 2 level and lacked higher experience, you also complained about that.

Hi All Just like to say hi to everyone on here as I only found out about this forum by a friend who I go most games with ๐ค Thanks for telling me Pete. This is my view on the season right now. The squad looks weaker than last year. I totally agree that we need more quality and some players need moving on but these players have proved they can compete in league 1 as they kept us up this year and if not for some back luck toward end of the season we could've been closer to mid table. The signing we've made are just pathetic, we've signed 2 strikers which 1 of them average 1goal in 10 games and the other 1goal in 8 games. We have signed 2 players who've never played adult football and are a risk to a club who's going to be fighting relegation (with the currant squad) and in a league 1 this season which looks very strong, so why don't we use our academy if this is the case in wanting to play young players (makes sense surely๐ค) I don't think theres going to be one person who says why don't we loan someone from Norwich under 23s or what ever under 23 club it is are they if we are doing bad. What we are in desperate need of is a proven goal scorer, someone who's got an average of 1goal in 3/4 games, I personally think we should be looking further afield then the players who have been released by league 1/2 clubs and looking for the next pay check, and signs on a 2 year deal and everyone slags off after the first 3/4 months by saying he's doesn't look interested. Whats going to get everyone believing in this manager and players if they decided to grab the bull by the horns and show the rest of league 1 that we are not going to sign the same old Sh** but instead showing everyone we mean business because that's why we all pay to watch are team is because we believe we can achieve more because if this isn't the case then no wonder the players lose faith because if the club isn't ambitious then how can you expect the player to be. I personally think the recruitment so far has been lazy and predictable so I hope that we show some ambition over the next week and bring in a player we are all excited about. Lets get a striker in that clubs say how did they get him, let's look abroad ๐ช๐ ๐๐๐๐ I needed a good laugh and here it is!

It's heck of a thing to think that if our friend Adam was in charge we would never have seen the likes of Paul Maguire, Chic Bates, Mark Williams, Tom Bradshaw, Gary Hackett, Jack Keay, Steve Biggins, James Meredith, Colin Robinson,John McGinlay etc etc in a Town shirt.
He clearly has no confidence in signing non league talent, fortunately our manager does.

But it's still experience and at a very good level. I haven't said don't go into the non league but go into the non league and find players who're doing well like Payne was scoring a ration of 1-2. Toney did well in league 2 so why couldn't he do well in league 1 not the biggest of jumps of quality.

This guy's either a wind up merchant or dangerously dim.
I cba too address all his points but one does stick out. Lenell john Lewis would have found it difficult securing a regular spot in the newport team with a ruptured hamstring followed by a knee injury that kept him out for 10 months.
