Not sure whether Nigel Adkins applied for the post or not but just noticed his active twitter account went quiet on the 14th October until this afternoon with nothing posted in between.
Would have liked to have thought if he had applied he would have been in the mix but not sure he would have come this far north.

I assume compensation will need to be paid if his assistant from grimsby joins him. Been together since their Boston days I think.

Quite happy with this.
We all need to pull together now and get this season heading in the right direction again.

So was he choice 1 , 2 or 3 then?! Although there were plenty of names flying around at the beginning some of which did not apply, i believe when it came down to the final list of names of those interviewed Paul Hurst was 1st choice. I for one am very happy we have gone for a up and coming and currently employed manager that has a decent record, rather than one of the many ready to go unemployed mixed success managers out there.

All the very best to Paul Hurst. You are going to need it. But if you turn around this shambolic season, you will acquire legend status in possibly the shortest time in STFC history.

Really happy with this good young manager who played us off the park twice in the fa cup last season. Hope he can turn our shambolic start to the season around. Debating whether to go and grab nyself a ticket for the Southend game on saturday COYB

So our 2pm announcement is a bit of a waste of time then No need to rush these things!! depends if Hurst is already in Shrewsbury this morning. Could be taking a training session this morning before meeting the press.

Feels like a good appointment, other than lack of league 1 experience. But boy does he have some work on his hands!

Reasonably happy with this. Whilst Jackett was first choice, a young, up and coming manager is still a good appointment in my eyes. I for one wish him all the luck in the world, because to keep us up, he'll need it.
Welcome to Salop Paul, COYB.
