We've given this one up that's for sure, holding on now...and today shows how far we are from being a top 10 team...

3-0 down. Time running out. Being outplayed by the sounds of it. How is a Collins / Barnett straight swap going to achieve anything? Not sure I'd say that is a 'straight' swap. Both very different players with different attributes. Mellon has many options at his disposal. I get the feeling that he may not be 100% sure of his best eleven or formation. Could be a frustrating season ahead. More than happy to take the highs and lows however. I don't know any different. COYB. Agree with you about him not knowing his best 11 or formation....which is worrying after 11 games (or 14 if you count the cups).

I must admit that I'm totally baffled why anyone would think we're a top ten team.
This is it folks get used to it.

2 away defeats against top 6 clubs, disappointing yes but not quite meltdown!

I think the manner of the defeat, shambolic defending and toothless attack is well worth a moan!
God knows what Mellons master plan for today was?? To a man we were second best.
Left the ground pretty embarrassed by that....

Disappointing but I'm getting resigned to us being also rans this season. Really depends on what your expectations were pre-season. Can only feel for those that expected a promotion push this season. Harsh realities.

In my opinion these decisions even themselves out over the course of a season.

Coventry = what a dire, dire place, full of horrendously ugly 1960's grey concrete architecture (I guess we've got Nazi Germany to thank for that) and the public transport links to the stadium from the city centre are an absolute joke.

Burton - 1st Bury - 3rd Southend - 11th Shrewsbury - 19th
We don't seem to be settling into League 1 as the others are. We're better than our results suggest but defense isn't performing and we can't score - today another fine example. For now it's worrying and needs fixing.

Such a long way to go and in my mind the squad is still in a state of flux. MM had his problems to resolve last season and did so with aplomb. Undoubtedly it will be much more difficult than last season but I'm not willing to write him or us off yet.

We don't move the ball anywhere quick enough, front two have absolutely no service at all.

Can't understand why Mellon did nt try and change it by using 3 subs. Personally thought maclinden and Ian Black would have been worth a run out. Maclinden to try and score and Black to see what he is like at this level and take Lawrence off.
Shame Dunny didn't ask the question on the radio. It will be interesting to see what he tries Tuesday. .

What on earth justified the decision to replace Ellis with Grandison?

Dunny does an outstanding job but he has never dared to ask pertinent questions which is a great pity really. U think the media do not want to be seen to ask the questions that we the paying punter want to know for fear of being banned from the ground.
Who needs who the most? STFC get a huge amount of publicity and advertising free of charge.
