Will be making my first trip to the Ricoh next Saturday from Notts.
Any tips on getting to the ground from Coventry station? I hear it's a fair trek. Is the new Ricoh Arena station now open?
For those driving where's decent for parking up?
Any pubs of note near / on route to the ground?
All advice welcome. Cheers!
Hopeful of a decent 1000+ following on Saturday.

The Ricoh Arena train station is due to open soon but won't be open on match days!
From what I remember there is a industrial estate just off Junction 3 of the M6 where a few factories open up their car parks to football supporters, its about a 15 to 20 minute walk to the arena from there. Not sure about the parking situation at the arena itself but I could imagine it would be expensive, there is also a large retail park nearby but can imagine that would be risky.
No idea about the local pubs but the casino at the ground has a bar where you can buy food and drink.

As already mentioned the new station is supposed to open soon BUT is not available when there are events at the Ricoh Arena! Basically London Midland can only provide an hourly service using a train with only 75 seats! They are also concerned the platforms do not have the capacity for large numbers of fans and they don't have any spare rolling stock to provide a better service. Fans are advised to use the bus service from City Centre. www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/coventry-city-fc-wasps-rfc-9920187

Went there on new years day a few years ago, there were a couple of pubs near the station, the Rocket and Litten Tree, the former was closed but I think is the pub they put away fans in if lots are coming by train, normally thats a bad sign! From memory the Litten Tree was cheap but has a Weatherspoons feel to it so isn't great I think there are buses to and from the ground but after the match we had a drink in the casino and then got a black cab as there is a taxi rank outside

Attending the game. Probably catching train from new street so will also have to work out how to get from station to the ground
That railway station story is bonkers, you'd have thought they'd sort out those logistics before building it!

The best place to have a drink pre-match is in the casino which is at the opposite end to the ground to the away end, it's quite expensive £3 - £5 a pint depending what you drink but it is pleasant in there and no problems

They are cheaper on line by £2. I asked Greg about this and he said it's something that Coventry do. I have no idea why.

Our website. I ordered mine on line and then collected them. Ok thanks - another new arrangement to confuse us ! It's the same for Coventry fans too .... £18 online and £20 in person. In case anyone missed it the article on the website said we should take the booking confirmation with us in case they asked to see it!! Luckily I was clearing some stuff of my desk yesterday and came across it which reminded me. I would have forgotten to take it as I bought the tickets when they first went on sale about 3 weeks ago! www.shrewsburytown.com/news/article/shrewsbury-town-coventry-city-sky-bet-league-1-ricoh-arena-2668059.aspx

Going but we'll be lucky to take 500 after tonight's debacle. Another season of toil in league 1 seems inevitable, we've been here before ?

Luckily for me, I'm thick as s**t, so I'll make my way over there.

I'd imagine all that were there tonight can't wait to be there again on Saturday to see the likes of Cole, Jlaa, Clark and Kaikai in confident mood. Games may be very open and we'll lose a few because of it but this is an exciting team coming together I think. 700 or so will make the trip, surely..

Rochdale supporters were very complimentary about our team's performance on their forum tonight, one even compared us to the mighty Walsall!

Just spent 20/30 mins making my first online purchase Hopefully it will get quicker for me now I have people in my network but i won't be doing it without good reason
For the sake of saving £8 between 5 of us it seemed a lot of hassle, especially as i still have to go and collect them. I forgot to check if there was a print at home (or work !) option

Apologies, the red mist descends after a defeat. Having read various reports it clearly wasn't a 'debacle'!
