5-0 to Burton. Sadler to give away 5 penalties. Duffy to score a double hat trick. Roland to sack MM live on Shropshire radio minutes after the final whistle. 2x hat-trick = 6 goals Too much Shropshire Lad owd lad?

Beware Duffy. He's against Sadler.[/quotie] He's no Junior Brown.

I hope we stick with 3-5-2 and just give it a real good go.

I hope we stick with 3-5-2 and just give it a real good go. They warmed up as a defensive three so looks like it!!

Don't understand how Barnett is not on. Our strikers have offered very little

Things starting to look a bit bleak now in the League. 5 games and no wins. Can't fault the effort but I'm starting to really question if we have that quality to snatch matches.

How have we not scored?
14 shots, 1 on target may tell part of the story though?

Dominated the game, but just 1 shot on target in 90 minutes does tell the story.

What a kick in the pips.
Was taking the clean sheet as such a positive vs an onform side.
Really not in the mood hear about Mark feckin Duffy....

When you set up at home not to lose you've got problems.

We'd be in the Championship by now. Right?

We've got problems.
I think some of us new that before the season started that the first X1 wasn't as good as last season, it's now there for everyone to see.
I know about 30% of the prediction thread said top 10/playoffs, but even they must come to that conclusion now.
No panic button obviously, a win takes us midtable, but it's all so familar isn't it...

Seems like Town are no better now than the last time they were in League 1.

Officially altering my views on the season from worried to seriously concerned
Better performance today, and new formation worked better, but another loss with far too many mistakes in the side and very little creativity or chances for us
Hard to see a single position we are stronger in than last season and should Woods go in the transfer window will be seriously concerned about a relegation battle ahead. Worryingly low attendance too

First game Ive made this season.
Negative team, poor changes by Mellon. Burton were there for the taking at the 70th minute. We had 3 defensive mids and a poor wideman on the pitch. If Junior Brown has pace Id love to see it. Put in two decent shots but was poor otherwise.
Mellon should have brought Clark/Whalley on and not subbed JLAA who was our only real outlet 2nd half.
Can see why Tootle makes errors, the running he has to do with no attacking support wide right he looked shattered after a good 75 minutes.
We arent far off being a decent side but lack so initiative or flair on the attack.

When you set up at home not to lose you've got problems. Fully agree - we're just not positive enough and this sort of thing is bound to happen if you don't force the issue at home. Not an attack on the workrate or desire of any of the 11 who started today, but the shape and dynamic of the team is just not right. I don't think you could call the midfield a diamond - it was totally unbalanced and mis-shapen with Brown wide left, with three Ogogo, Lawrence and Woods essentially holding midfielders and Tootle expected to overlap and provide the width down the right. Let's face it our League Cup exploits have papered over the cracks - three straight home defeats and we've scratched a couple of points scratched on the road is a poor start in anyone's book. For me it's the disjointed nature of the set-up and team that's the problem, not the personnel per se....was disappointed not to see either Whalley and Clark given a start after their impact at Oldham. Thought Mellon should have made his substitutions much earlier, as we were hardly knocking on the door, but he seemed to be happy for us to trundle our way to a 0-0 rather than really going for the win. How many points will we have on the board after Southend and Barnsley - it's early days but pressure is building.

Very surprised that Whalley didn't make an appearance. His pace and trickery opened up Oldham last week.

Everyone calm down. That was unlucky. We were the better side through out and hit the wood work twice. On another day you go in 2 up.
I thought we looked better in that system.
Sadler and Tootle had good games.
The tempo in the second half was much better.
We're getting there.

The point of the game is to score more goals than the oposition not dominate the game, only have one shot on target and concede a late goal. MM and RW and co will be judged by results and it's not looking good

I know Duffy scored the winner but he was pretty anonymous up to them. Decent performance by Town .
Not worried, results will come!

What a kick in the pips. Was taking the clean sheet as such a positive vs an onform side. But they weren't anything to write home about, were they? Nothing special at all. Frustrating not to take what was quite a presentable opportunity to notch our first three points of the season.

Very surprised that Whalley didn't make an appearance. His pace and trickery opened up Oldham last week. Would have to change shape to accommodate him? I'm guessing that MM thought that we were in control with the 3-5-2 there was no need to change.
