This is tragic news indeed. I didn't know Nick but to know that he shared a few of my passions makes me feel that I would have got on with him. We perhaps shouldn't need terrible events such as this to make us evaluate our own lives and to put things like football into perspective but that is the effect it has had on me. RIP Nick.

no better way for the team to push on and win the title in honour of Nick, such sad news, one less troop to support the team home and away on the ground, but one more angel to look over us all rest in peace mate

Tragic news. RIP. Could we do something as a B&A community to show our respects (possibility a fundraiser like when we heard about Alf Wood's situation, a flag or something at the ground?). That said, I think it would be for someone who knew Nick well to suggest something befitting, if and when it might be appropriate. I'd be happy to help or contribute to anything which would mark this loss or bring any kind of comfort, however small, to his friends and family.

Awful news. Can't believe it. When you recognise the face at all those underground stations over the years, it makes you numb. Like a lot of fans, saw him at Pompey Sat. Shocking news. R.I.P..

On behalf of Burton Albion fans, I wish to pass on condolences to the family of the Shrewsbury fan who tragically lost his life at the weekend. We maybe rivals on the pitch, but at times like this, football takes a back seat. The best way your club can honour him is a minutes silence on Friday, followed by promotion. I'm sure you will carry out both these. RIP .

I did not know Nick but having read all the glowing tributes from media outlets and the messages on Blue and amber, and having re-read some of his posts on Blue and Amber, in a strange way you feel as if you did know him even if in a small way.
It makes you realise that we do strike a personal relationship with everyone of those we converse with on B&A even though we may never meet some!
A B&A tribute has been suggested by some already and I (as I am sure many) would be more than happy to contribute toward a tribute for Nick who's bravery to save his brother sacrificed his own life. As has been said he was part of the Blue & Amber and Shrewsbury Town FC family!
RIP

Haven't been on here for a little while, but drawn back to pay my condolences (in a small way) to a fellow Salopian. Terrible, terrible news.
With his love of music I guess it is kind of apt that the club happen to be supporting the Big Busk at the D&R game, a cause I suspect Nick would have thoroughly supported.

I met Nick at a pub before the Wimbledon game (and his brother Robert later on in the season) and enjoyed a few pre match drinks in their company at a few away games this season, really saddened and shocked at this news rest in peace Nick and praying that Robert can pull through and make a full recovery... I didn't know Nick or his Brother but the fact that Dale knows them and shared a few pints with them tells me that they were good people. RIP Nick, keep roaring the boys on from heaven. Keep fighting Robert.....

That's a wonderful piece, very moving. So many fine tributes make me wish I'd had chance to share a couple of pints with Nick. The banner or other memorial is a fine idea and I'd be pleased to contribute in lieu of the pint I can't buy him.

How one family can go through so much grief within such a short space of time doesn't bare thinking about.
