Reading about his big love of music and was Editor and Founder of UK DIY punk rock fanzine A Short Fanzine About Rocking. ashortfanzineaboutrocking.tumblr.com/Some lovely comments about Nick. ‘He had all the time in the world for anyone, and gave so much to everything he had passion for. He loved two things in equal measure – music and football. He was one of the most passionate people I’ve ever known. He was a great dude.’

A minute's applause would be nice.
Although a minute's moshing might have been his choice...

Saw the story reported earlier this morning and thought I vaguely recognised Nick’s face, but had no idea who it was and assumed it was just one of those faces. Felt a bit sick when I saw he was from Shrewsbury and made the connection. Don’t think I ever met him but I saw him around a lot, and he seemed like a nice guy. Did think this line, from a tribute on one of the sites he contributed to was great though:
“so if there’s anything can alleviate the hurt we’re all feeling about this tragedy right now it’s that the last time he saw them play, with his brother, they tonked Portsmouth 2 – 0. “
RIP

Awful news, I hope the club note his passing in a way befitting of a true fan, and someone who had been traveling back from a game.
All the best to his family and friends. RIP
In terms of B and A, Nick was one of the longest serving members, having been on here since 2006, and was a presence on the old Rivals Board as well I believe.

Extremely sad news
Thoughts and prayers are with their family. Hoping that the young Man pulls through so his brother didn't die in vain
Some form of acknowledgement by the club would be fitting
R.i.p. Fellow blue, and keep fighting for survival

Morning everyone. I was (******* hell) a friend of Nick's. It's still hard to process. Only on Friday were we all at the England game joking about Harry Kane being amazing, Shrewsbury lad Joe Hart and catching some Surrey T20 games over the summer. All the stuff you've read is true, you honestly couldn't meet a nicer guy who loved his (often questionable taste in bad mosh) music, going to Shrewsbury games, craft beer, travelling, so on, so forth. He'd make newcomers feel welcome at 5-a-side every Monday night in deepest, darkest Surrey whilst keeping our well oiled social game going for **** knows how long. We will miss his drag backs, dreadful stints in goal and running around at the end memorizing who has and hasn't paid. We all got together at the pub last night and he'd have been livid at all of us being there when often we can barely scr@pe 10 to kick a ball around. I'm proud to have been a friend and he won't be forgotten. Salop. Also praying that Robert pulls through and all of our thoughts are with the Mann/Kavanagh families.

I read the news yesterday when it was a distant tragedy. Shocking to learn it was so much closer to home.
Didn't know Nick but the warmth and heartfelt nature of the tributes from those who did speak volumes. Go well Nick and may Robert make a good recovery. Thoughts with his wife and family.
Something at the game on Friday would be fitting.

I recognise his face from following Town but I personally didn't know Nick, and that sounds very much like it was my loss from all the glowing tributes on here.
How awful and we can only hope and pray that his brother Robert pulls through to at least give some meaning to him losing his life.
35 minutes in on Saturday is going to bring a lump to the throat and tear to the eye given the circumstances.
RIP Nick and we will all, I'm sure, raise a glass to you when the team secure promotion.

Just got news from a friend that Rob is now stable and undergoing surgery for 'many broken bones', but no head injuries.

Such a brave thing to do. Just tragic in every way. Let's hope his brother can recover from his injuries and come to terms with something so terrible. RIP, one of our own.
