Our history isn’t lost we still beat Man City 2-0 back in 1979 and we really did spend 10 years at level 2. The thing about heritage though and the intangible memories around it is that many people who haven’t been to the old GM are forming new experiences at the new GM. As we all are. This includes where to drink and how to get to the ground. It is worth pointing out that attendances still remain healthy when compared to the old GM. With the housing development behind Waitrose/Percy Throwers in the pipeline, I hop they'll be a decent pub to add to the good choices already available to us, something that offers a different choice of alws would be great.

With their record of "supporting" the football club, they would probably insist on putting up signs saying, "no buying drinks on match days".

We might be able to replace the missing 770 when this estate is built?

I was just ambling through the town centre whilst on my lunch break and noticed, due to half term, the number of kids that were kicking about with families. Would it not be a good idea to use times like these (e.g. half term) to stick Lenny the Lion on Pride Hill to get the kids a bit excited, meanwhile promoting STFC's family packages to their parents? You could even go as far as getting him on Pride Hill on the morning of match days before Lenny's needed to throw mint humbugs to the crowds in the afternoon. It's not going to create a massive improvement in attendance from Day One, but as some people suggested earlier on in this thread, we need to start building up our support from the future generations as early as possible. Anyway, thought I'd just throw my hat into the ring... :-)

Harsh ! IMO this is one area of the club which is working well linkI think 'harsh' might be a tad strong, Paul. Whilst I appreciate the efforts of the Junior Shrews scheme and applaud the success of the AMF Bowling event the other day, my suggestion was just another avenue to explore.

if only the club could park a caravan and lenny in the square during school holidays, leaflets could be handed out to families or anyone who would stop.

Excellent post from JT about the missing Coracle, where is it and why is it not on display in the clubs small heritage centre. clubs can look to the future but forget their heritage and history at their peril. anyone know where the coracle is? or is there a carpenter amongst us!

I believe the Coracle is in the national Football museum which used to be at Preston North End but is now somewhere in Manchester.
Personally I think it is in the right place, but maybe we should have a big print of the coracle and Fred Davies like the one on the back page of the Wycombe programme I purchased, and a plaque underneath stating it is on show at the Museum in Manchester or wherever it is likely to relocate in the future?

Was at the museum a few weeks ago and didn't see it on show, although they had a big WW1 exhibition on so it might be in storage there. Be good to have it back at our ground though

The coracle is number 1 on the list and the first exhibit you see on this floor.

Was slightly side tracked by the terrible Michael Jackson statue they have had donated by Fulham They do seem to have changed the layout of the museum since last year when I went with the club section being replaced by the WW1 exhibition If the Coracle is in storage wonder if we can get it back? Even just as a temporary exhibition to celebrate this seasons promotion

It was to the left of the stairs as you went to the top floor when I visited last summer. JT's article is dated 2008.
