Town have a real chance of making up for the last 2 league defeats against bottom of league visitors Carlisle Utd.
p 7 w 0 d 3 L4 F 6 A 17. points 3. their GD of -11 is coloured by a 5-0 thrashing at Cambridge, something I would like to see repeated on Tuesday but I make no predictions.
Results
luton h 0-1, wobblers a 1-3, chelt a 0-0, southend h 1-1Cambridge away 0-5, wombles h 4-4, bury h 0-3.
the wombles game proves they can score goals, but whoever plays up front for town appears to have the Carlisle defence at their mercy.
this has to be a game for town to bounce back, particularly up front. no pressure lads, 16 more shots but on target.
best of luck MMM, Floreat Salopia!

8 points off top and if we lose on Tuesday it could be 11.
So if we want challenge for the league title we need to put together a run unbeaten starting with Tuesday.

following Carlisle, Newport at home next Saturday, followed by southend and Plymouth away, neither easy. not forgetting target practice against canaries, next 2 games are winnable and need to be won.

I hate it when we play teams on a long winless run, we always seem to end it for them.

They may have a new Manager by then and as it seems Club's get a boost for a couple of games with players trying to show there worth to the new man.

Does any one think MM will change Strike force and midfield to start tonight's game?

Having not scored for 3 games I would like to think, with the strikeforce at our disposal, we are due a goal or 2. Having been at Stevenage on Saturday their goal led a charmed life at times with some good goalkeeping as well, from Sam Beasant the son of former "Crazy gang" Wimbledon keeper Dave.

Someone's going to get thrashed and it might well be Carlisle!
6-0 Salop ;-)

Be interesting to see what the attendance is tonight. With holidays over and kids back at school would hope to see a few more there
That said the two away defeats, Champions League on telly and Carlisle unlikely to bring may affect the attendance

no longer wish to predict score, but a clean sheet and a modest brace could be useful.

3833 spectators tonight - first time under 4k? Yep for a league game. Previous lowest was 4039 against Crawley last season.

Scoreline aside this has been quite poor.
We have nothing going forward through the middle at all and it's depressing seeing so many long balls from a team we know can pass for fun ? ? ?
If I was the manager I'd take Woods off for Lawrence and swap Akpro and Mangan around. Why have the top scorer on the wing and sitter misser up front? ... Still, we are winning thankfully so prob no change.
Lets hope for a more entertaining second half!
