Grandison played o.k. Especially in the first half when he had no-one against him, which enabled him to get forward. The second half he became more and more isolated, with most of their attacks and crosses coming from their left side. He is not a full- back! If he is faced by a tricky winger, with pace, he is lost, simply because being a big lad he cannot change direction quickly enough. Straight line speed coupled with his strength and he powers forward, but if the winger stands him up and goes again he is left for dead. He needs time and space to get up to speed. And at full back that is a weakness. Woods is a superb player who has quick feet and an eye for a pass, but he does,nt get forward enough. Maybe we need to change our formation and play a centre midfield of three, Wesolowski, Woods and either Lawrence or Wildig, players who can drive forward.
It also seems to me that Vincent is favoured by MM. He offers little going forward and has not got the skill to beat a player. We have a winger in Caton who, given a chance will get better. He has more pace and can beat a player, he just needs game time.

Slightly better last night but need a vast improvement on Saturday! The teams around us seem to be finding their feet and we are in danger of being left behind! Need to freshen up the starting line up.

A very strange game. Felt flat from the first minute and didnt really get going, I thought we were poor and lucky to get the win but coming away I heard people talking about us easily scoring 4 or 5 on another night. Whilst that may have been an exaggeration we did have quite a few chances. But then we looked very panicky at the end and of course our keeper made one brilliant save to uphold the lead. I thought last night was the first time that the team hasnt looked quite right, what formation did we start with? Managan isnt a left winger and the strike force didnt click. I dont think you can start with Collins & Akra Akpo as they are both big physical strikers and dont have much footballing brains between them, either of them alongside Vernon or Managan would be better as you'd have a mixture of physicality and someone who is a bit more clever. Midfield is also an issue, Wes & Woods are both good players who put in decent performances but dont give us much going forward, its very harsh to drop either so maybe an option is to drop Clarke and play Lawrence in that free attacking midfield role.
I really hope we go back to a balanced side with Demetriou on the left.

Don't buy this love affair with Ellis. Sure, he wins most in the air but was badly exposed twice in the second half by getting too close to the opposing attacker and being turned easily. The defence has always looked better without him and three at the back. I agree with what you have said. He is great at corners and from high balls though. I prefer NKP in the middle with Connor personally.

At about 65 minutes they switched formation and Clark sat behind Collins with Mangan and JLAA on the wings. We seemed to be more creative for that period with woods and Weso mopping up anything and bringing it forward for the forward players. JLAA works better as a left sided forward.
