Tom wouldn't be fifth choice if he was here would he? Surely he was badly supplied with scoring opportunities similar to many up front in the last two seasons' squads. He did quite a bit in his cameos and got us quite a few free kicks in good places. With the right squad he's doing well and good luck to him, and as said above, let's hope he don't score against us! Fifth choice? Would he be in front of Vernon? Would we have signed Mangan who looks like he's a great investment?
Let's hope that our remaining squad who played with him know how easily and convincingly he can fall over.

Goalscorers are hard to come by as we know all too well and he's scored more goals than any of our strikers in the last 12 months, so although I'm perfectly happy with what we've got, I am not so sure he would be 5th choice based on current form.

We all got fairly excited to see Akpa Akpro get a hatrick against Bury but his previous record playing for Grimsby, Tranmere and Bury was something like 3 goals in sixty odd appearances, hardly prolific? Bradshaw was a committed Town player who was continually overlooked by GT who brought in a series of loan signings who were all equally crap and not worth their places. Bradshaw may well have been offered a new contract but why would he want to commit to playing as an also ran for another season or two? He might be richer, he may be poorer but as a young lad he is a first team choice for his manager and leading goal scorer too. What better way to stick two fingers to GT MJ and all his doubters on here.

Good luck to Tom Bradshaw at Walsall, except for on Saturday.
Am I bothered he is no longer a Shrewsbury Town player? Not one bit.

All the very best to Tom Bradshaw. I hope he has a good career. But he wouldn't get on the bench for us just now, and that's why we're going to be promoted.
My god your forwards must be incredible!!! Super Tommy Bradshaw certainly is!!!

We're better than we were when he was with us, he's apparently better then he was when he was here - so everyone should be happy, right? Speculating about whether he'd be our 1st, 3rd or 5th choice striker this season seems a bit pointless. The change is proving beneficial to everyone so nobody needs to be sticking two fingers up, whatever happens on Saturday.
Keep on scoring Tom, but not against us please.

One wonders why he couldn't make himself "bigger faster stronger" while he was employed by STFC.

“Physically I am bigger, stronger and quicker.
“I still know some of the lads at Shrewsbury and I’m sure they will think they know my game. But I have changed considerably.
“It might be an unpleasant surprise for them.”
...sounds like his ego's got bigger as well. Read it and take it in Connor, perhaps you can burst his bubble.

He looks like he is enjoying football and can appreciate that he probably felt underused at town and now he's been given a higher profile role that he is relishing it. Good luck to the lad, always liked him and supported him. As said before, as long as he don't score against us!

Bigger, stronger, quicker, whoop de friggin woo. i wonder if he has improved his ability to control the ball without it bouncing a yard off him, or pass a ball to a player wearing the same kit as him. Seriously, I hope he does well, but does,nt score against us or end up playing in the next round. Q. Does he still run around looking like a teapot.

Tom Bradshaw doesn't frighten me.
Funny that, because when he played for us, he did.

That would explain why his tea mates called him typhoo. I just assumed they'd left an "n" off the end.

Anyway, he probably didn't nick it, he might have been having a Decca.

One wonders why he couldn't make himself "bigger faster stronger" while he was employed by STFC. Warming the bench and the prospect of first team football night well have been an important kick up the arse to motivate him. I don't wish the lad any ill at all, I Hope he has a wonderful career. But I'd be happy to see him sky his shots on Saturday, just as Chelsea mainly did. Has Bradshaw played against Chelsea...?

Walsall fan coming in peace again. Well, well, well. Who would have thought our Super Tommy Bradshaw finally gets to show his old club just what a great player he has become with some decent footballers around him. I will be amazed if he doesn't get on the score sheet for us. I am sure he will be respecful to you all with his goal celebration as he slides on his knees towards us in the away end. I am really looking forward to the game and it set up for Bradshaw to be the hero on the day. Let's hope we have a classic game of football with Bradshaw scoring the winner!!!!

Like most strikers, confidence is a huge part of his game. It is very pleasing to see him doing well, however you may not believe it now but if his goals dry up for more than a few games, he will probably then hit a long lean spell, which could last a whole season.

bet he's still hiding behind mummy ! Got to ask owd lad , have you and Bunkem managed to get complementary tickets for Saturday from Mrs Bradshaw . Knowing how well you two get on with her I would have thought it would be a cert . Ringside seats I bet we have and she requested that she sits on my lap the full 90mins and share a roll up together. Don't think she's keen on Bunkem she said his hands wonder!

What did you expect!!? " since I left Shrewsbury I've certainly lost a yard of pace my touch has deteriorated further and all this playing games as opposed to catching splinters on the bench not all it's cracked up to be" .... hes not the messiah but neither is he a naughty boy, always been a goalscorer and will get you 15-20 a season at lg 1-2 level given the right balance of opportunity & surrounding cast. A/ never given enough opportunity at Town b/ never paired with a striker who played in that deeper role allowing Tom to feed off the last man good luck to him moving clubs and trying to prove his worth just not on Saturday!

I too like to see ex players doing well for themselves, but it is getting pretty boring reading threads about this topic weekly!! Still think long term we've got a better balanced strike force with the group we have at our disposal presently. It's an enjoyable experience to watch this team grow as a whole. I think we all know, one or two probably go on to bigger better things in the near future. Let's focus on the present and future not going over past seasons and ex player!! Not just about him being an ex player though is it? He is Shrewsbury born and bred. There will be plenty of added interest because of that I'm sure. Not too many lads from the town who go on to play in the Football League is there? So bound to be one or two hoping to see him progress. Plus he is clearly a Town fan considering the times he's been down the Meadow. If its boring then don't read the thread...
