Yep definitely a poor move this.......
Don't need any long explanation but will the Fans Parliament raise this on behalf of supporters or do we need to send in appropriate e-mails, letters of complaint to CEO individually.........
Not really kept up to date with the FP stuff, apologies, and unsure of how it actually operates or what clout it may have........
Rodger (Chairman of the SP) has already sent a number of questions, and you can forward any more youihave to me (im a rep for B and A). Dont personally see why you should contact the club directly though.

I wanted to update a few on here that we are NOT 700 down on last season. More like we are 400 down on the final number of ST’s sold last season (direct from the club that figure). Better than a few weeks ago for sure, and as such I can only conclude that people are still buying season tickets (promoted by the positive team rebuild?) s this the same direct from the club that lied when it stated that the sale of season tickets was on par or just slightly down on last year. You can tell when the club is not telling the truth as the person who is giving the information has moving lips!! No idea about that person saying that it was on par with last year... when was that, who was that. I just got told this by Matt (the CEO) so i'm inclined to believe him, as yet hes not given me a reason to doubt him.

He would be foolish to make a lie when starting out in a new job where it is important that people see you as a person if trust. So Matt should be telling the truth.

I say again, I know the club read the forum. You have made a catastrophic blunder with prices. You've read the feeling on here. It's not too late to have a change of heart, and you will be applauded for listening. But dig your heels in, and make no mistake, we'll all pay or it in the long run.
Supporters who are exiles, but make the trip to watch Town, will be tempted to go to away games instead of the Greenhous, and who can blame them.
accringtonstanley.co.uk/tickets/admission-prices/
Pay on the gate, no silly "membership" cards.
I thought we'd got away from the daftness. Clearly not. One away game that will definitely be on my list this season!

Some very well thought out and written posts from some very respected people and posters. The strength of feeling is clear. The £64,000 question....how will the club react, if at all to this first negative feedback?

If I were a CEO and the Shropshire Star misquoted a key business figure about my company, I would have moved very swiftly to get that figure corrected.
So come on Matt, tell us what the true ST sales position is ( and by the way we used to proudly talk of approaching 3000 STHs back in 2009).
Better still, why not suspend the Blackpool match ticket sales for a day or so, and reserve ST seats for that game in the time-honoured fashion of STFC?
Then we would all have complete transparency via the Online Ticket system of the TRUE ST sales position. Simples.

Wasn't the '700' mentioned before the discounts had finished? Plus you can still buy them now, admittedly with less saving per game.

the first we heard about 700 down was about 3 weeks ago, prior to that it was widely stated that season tickets were on par with previous years, cba to trawl through, but that was definitely the message that came through

I think we are at a point where if the club did consider to change the match day pricing, we should revert back to last season's as this would be an easy option. Going forward then, that would give the Club and supporters representative's time to work a proper long term policy and hopefully secure the best deal for regular and occasional fans.

Guys had another email from Matt (whos been reading the thread and wants to make sure we are as informed as can be). For the record the only reason hes contacted me is I was speaking with him regards the badge vote and he knows i'm the Admin here.
Quote below
"If you wanted to update B&A on where the 700 figure came from, that was given to me by the ticket office and at that time they had not processed the Sovereign and Hospitality season tickets which is just under 300, admittedly, I didn't check with them as to whether the Sovereign or Hospitality was included, a learning point for me"
I think we are getting our knickers in a twist about it all. You have two guys new into a job (Matt and Greg) who are just finding there way though our systems. Things are always going to be missed initially (like ST holders seats not being reserved) or slight miss communications, but it will get sorted and in both instances the club have tried to get the message out to the fans about both issues (this is an improvement is it not!)
yes we are well within our rights to have a pop about the price rise
Mats also drafting a response to the SP questions hes received and hopefully once we have these we can issues to the fan base, and then take forward remaining issues to the next sitting of the supporters parliament.

To be fair in the first week I bet they were on par, loads of people initially renew very quickly, particularly with the Early Bird offer. I have put some more inform below that clears things up a bit direct from our CEO.

I really dont think we should be focusing on whether the club lied, mis-informed or whatever you want to call it in relation to number of season tickets sold. That was done before Matt Williams was here and he cant be held accountable, if numbers are now down by 400 rather than 700 then thats obviously better news and going in the right direction.
But that deflects attention away from the real issue here which is the matchday pricing for next season

The SP are more than happy to take questions from supporters to the club, I am sure this would be a great way we as supporters can help Matt in particular by collating questions and helping him with email traffic.
As soon as we have a date for the next meeting you will hear about it, if it's on a particular subject(s) then again we will formulate questions on that particular topic, I'll take a guess now and say Ticketing may be on the agenda and a badge update.
I'm away until the 19th July but still contactable either by email or on B&A although Glyn has usually covered off most questions admirably by the time I get to them.
Thanks Roger

To be honest I couldn't give a monkeys about how well or badly ST sales are going, because I've never had one and probably never will. I'm concerned about matchday prices for me as a casual fan and the club have screwed up IMO. Always had a bit of a soft spot for Villa and as you can pop out for smoke at half-time there I might start going with my lad occasionally, there are quite often decent incentives, especially for games that are on Sky and the gates inevitably fall. I can get chips there too

Thanks Roger I'm sure the club and Matt Williams in particular would much prefer the FP to collect questions from disgruntaled fans so that these can be dealt with in a nice cosy meeting but I believe that the fact that the club aren't consulting with the FP on important decisions and as yet no meeting date has been set then a direct e mail may focus him more on fans feelings. Any employee can be e mailed using their name with a dot between 1st name and surname followed by @shrewsburytown.co.uk although I dont think this is the case with RW (or andy groudo )

Hopefully this move will get rid of some of the riff-raff and make games feel more of an 'exclusive' event ;P

Salop are my only team, unfortunately it appears as though they don't want me unless I am prepared to buy a season ticket or cough up pretty much every penny of my disposable income every other week. Family life doesn't work like that, I can't or won't commit to go to every game and I certainly will not put 90 minutes of my life ahead of my family. If that makes me less of a supporter, so be it. I'm not the one choosing to walk away, the club are the ones continually putting barriers in my way. I've tolerated every barrier since the move; the location, the having to sit, the lack of parking, the shoddy attitude, the dire atmosphere caused by the ticketing policy, the price increases, the stewarding, the food, the distaste shown to us the very lifeblood of the club by the owners and certain employees and even the bloody logo. There are only so many things that I'll put up with and I'm getting very close to the point of walking away. We are football supporters and a captive audience that won't walk away and choose another club to support, so why are we continually treated as bloody customers? If Asda treat me wrong I'll go to Tesco or Sainsburys, if MY club treat me wrong where can I go? Telford, Wolves? No chance too much history and hatred. Drayton, Shifnal, Wellington Amatuers? No thanks, it'd be like going from a nearly new Focus to a 15 year old Daewoo Matiz. I don't want to go to watch Villa, but if I fancy going to a game of football and they make it affordable and make me welcome, while Shrewsbury don't, can you really blame me?
