Heard a rumour that he was asked to pack his bags at half time of the Tranmere game.
Not in the 18 for the Preston game.
It was an obvious question for Stuart Dunn to ask GT where he was..but of course he didn't.

So the message seems to be don't get a loan for Christmas as you will be sending them back!
Didn't Simpson send Jamie Devitt back after withdrawing him from the squad before the christmas game at Bradford?

Running around in training did he actually put effort in or break swet?

He's gone home to rethink his career I think.

Running around in training did he actually put effort in or break swet? I think you're asking the wrong man to recognise those two symptoms

Big Sam puts more effort in sat there than Ugwu did. I mean at least Sam actually goes lower and lower into his coat, if Ugwu did that to his shirt it would be a vast improvement.

Ianwhit obviously reads everything on b+a, comments on stuff where he can look good, but then when there's pressing matters that relate to his role at the club, he's AWOL!!

Not sure how stating a fact about a player's whereabouts makes Ian "look good"... it just makes the o/p look a bit stupid. Not sure what pressing matters there are with his role but I wouldn't be dealing with those on here anyway. I am glad that a few STFC staff read and contribute to B&A, it adds a lot to the forum.

I still stick to my original observation that it was a blindingly obvious question for Stuart Dunn to ask GT, yet he didn't.
I was also very careful to state that what I had heard was merely a rumour, and as such I am grateful to Ian for him to have cleared things up.
What HASN'T been cleared up however is whether GT sees Ugwu as providing any further input to the club. A simple question from Dunn would have given us some insight to this.

I heard the same rumour.
Why was he not on the bench if he's still here? Isn't it the norm to have 2 strikers on the bench if possible?
We really need a striker coming in on a permanent basis this month or we're doomed and god help us if Eaves happens to go back, GT has to realise this.

I would be very interested to know why Mr Dunn felt it unnecessary to pose the question to Mr Turner.

Maybe a unique view but I don't see the 'whereabouts and future of Ugwu' as a priority for a post match interview.

He would have made the assumption like everyone else that a out of sorts and out of form Ugwu would be no use to us on the bench. Ian Whit confirmed the lad was still at the club this week and was possibly even at the game on Sunday. The simplest explanation is usually the right one. No real need for drama here.

As someone who earns a living partly through coaching people to give such answers I'd suggest that the failure to answer such questions speaks volumes in itself, but hey - what do I know? :-)

Lazy journalism. It would seem he is towing the party line and not upsetting the apple cart. Dunn has a number of fanatics on here, but like the journos at the sloppy star he is reluctant to ask the 'difficult' questions for fear of RW withdrawing access. As an aside, an interesting article about GT on the BBC website.

Wroe is here until the end of the month. Doesn't sound as if GT will move until he see's more from him. Just now he's the 4th choice centre mid. Would be an expensive bench warmer. Interestingly enough GT spoke about the possibility of putting Grandison on the bench today to cover Woods. Grandison's return looks to be the end of Gayle's stay here. So the Reach leaving rumour was also BS?

The simplest explanation is usually the right one. No real need for drama here. What? That's just utter nonsense Mark. You know as well as I do that in reality, the most bizarre, stupid, lie ridden, factually unsound, idiotic and bigoted explanation is always always always the right one! And let's be honest here, if it doesn't rival the Cold War for drama, it means nothing at all!!

As an aside, an interesting article about GT on the BBC website. That's more or less the point I was making, albeit in a roundabout way. Dunn never seems to ask anything other than the most bland of questions, often rhetorical, and seems strangely reluctant to pick up on some of GT's comments. For example GT has parroted the line 'we were getting into good areas' so many times that it's screaming for a response along the lines of "surely the penalty box is the good area?" Or at least a request for GT to clarify what he means by this phrase bearing in mind it's used by him so many times. It never comes from Dunn. His interviews almost seem like a public relations exercise for the club, are generally bland and are certainly lacking in any meaningful criticism.
