Before we start, I would just like to say that neither side are better than Manchester United who are without doubt the best team in the world. Ever. So no need to mention them again in this thread now I reckon. So, third of the four games. One win for Real giving them the Spanish Cup and one draw (which pretty much handed the league to Barca). As someone who would like to see Barca pick up the European Cup it’s a concern that they looked a little jaded in the Cup final but moreso with Guardiola seemingly losing his rag with Mourinho in the press conference yesterday. Lost his cool a little there. Anyhows, anyone going to watch? Who do you want to win. Who do you think will win. I'm going for another draw between the two tonight. But over the two legs (pains me to say it) I think Real will come out on top. That Mourinho factor seems to go a long way in this competiton and with the Cup win the other week, maybe the tide is turning a little. Hope I am wrong, mind...

Must be the first time you have referred to Manchester United rather than this mythical club called 'Manchester'. Don't know which spanish club will have the better chance in the final proberly Barca.

I can only think Manchester fans don't appreciate the club being called so is because it’s a tad embarrassing for them that they've never been near the place. I think those who start a thread should have the permission to edit it!!

Barca are the better team on paper but with Jose anything is possible really. Should be gripping stuff hopefully rather than last nights one-sided affair.

Ive heard that because up until recently Manchester City didn't have as much coverage worldwide, united were just known as 'Manchester' as it wasnt known that there were 2 teams. Must have wound up City fans I imagine. I would guess it would apply to clubs in Sheffield, Bristol and Nottingham relatively speaking but not Birmingham and Liverpool as they are different names entirely.

I'm still waiting for a paranoid man u fan to come calling.
For me, I want Barca to win - always been my favourite of the two and they're my favourite non English team, in fact my 3rd favourite team. When I was first starting to get into football barca had Gary Lineker, Terry Venables, Mark Hughes, Steve Archibald so I've always thought more of them and I've also been to the Camp Nou twice including Ronaldinho's debut.
However, tonight's going to be tight, particularly as I think Real have home advantage tonight don't they..

I think the winner of this tie will claim the Champions League title, they're the two best teams in Europe IMO. Such a shame we haven't got the showpiece final.

Anyway, my money will be on Barca, a class side, with a history of signing great players ( and the occassional great manager).

So you quoted my post once and put a reply, then spent 20 minutes thinking of another reply to the same post?
Anyway, it's unlike you to take such a large and obvious piece of bait.

Dint one of the sky pundits say Man Utd were a better team than Real Madrid last night? I think they have it right Real are not as big as the Premiership top 3 teams.

According to eufa current rankings real are lower than Liverpool so yes there is a problem somewhere I do think real would be hanging on for a champs league spot if they were in the prem On the other hand barca would probably have won it in march

Real have some ridiculously talented players coupled with a ridiculously talented manager. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they win this tie, Mourinho's managed to get under the skin of Guardiola over the last 2 meetings between the sides.
Because of Mourinho, it won't be a classic. He'll keep it cagey tonight, maybe even a nil-nil, and go for a win on away goals at the Nou Camp.
UEFA's rankings tend to only take into account recent European performances. This is the first season in 6 (I think) that Real have got past the last 16 stage, it's not surprising they're ranked low.

Why on earth is Adebayor on the bench?

Truly awful first half. Mad scenes next to the tunnel at half time, as well.
Don't bet against a Real red card. They've had one in each of the last three Classico's.
Think there's a goal in this, not sure which way.
Interesting choice of pundits by ITV.
Two managers who failed at Middlesbrough.

The Barca sub keeper Pinto's been sent off for those half time scenes.

Not a great deal of football on show tonight is there. Crazy stuff...
I thought we'd be in for a decent match. A tad naive of me that I suppose considering who's involved and what's at stake...

Granted I'd prefer to see Barca go through but that were never a red card. I think it was the reaction of the Barca players that managed to get that decision... Now Mourinho off. Bit of a farce this; so bad its good...

Sublime that second goal from Messi, stunning. Best player in the world bar none.
Don't think either team comes out of it with a great deal of credit, but after seeing Mourinho go into a home tie with no strikers on the pitch a Barca win was the preferred option

only saw last 10 mins, but sensational 2nd goal from Messi - surely the best player there has EVER been, including Pele. I never thought I'd say that but true.
By the way, does the Spanisjhlanguage have a word for "integrity"?

Haha El Classico...granted a superb 2nd goal, but hideous cheating and gamesmanship throughout Yeah, I did think it would make for a great final. After watching that I'm not so sure. I think its best they're meeting now in the semis. Every time they come together now the game just suffocates under gamesmanship, play acting, cheating etc. Just a crazy game...
