I deleted a thread a few minutes ago by someone, not logged in, 'naming and shaming the person' who wrote the offensive message on Bucks Chat earlier to today.
Now the IP of the person who posted on Buckschat did match that of a registered user on b&a who posted several messages today.
HOWEVER - as Kickin so accuratley put it on the thread deleted - IPs can be the same for people using the same internet providers but be on different computers in different houses. Alternatively people at one work place or university etc. all share the same ip address.
I know it's a difficult situation because the message on the TUFC board was well, well out of order but at the same time I don't think naming and shaming should be done when there is adequate doubt that the two posts could have been from different people.
I hope people understand where I'm coming from on this one, even if I've not worded this post particularly well...

Understood I just think that this should be looked in to, as threats like that should be dealt with.

I'm sure Pilch will report this to the relevant ISP and with any luck they may be able to discover more.

Quite correct Ant, I spoke with JP earlier after pointing out the post and the info was passed onto PILCH who I believe has taken measures to rectify the situation 'internally'
Perhaps if/when the culprit is identified their details should be forwarded onto 'laptop' (the PC who reads this board I believe?) as its not just a case of inciteful behaviour but also very abusive to certain individuals. And at a time when we really need to be encouraging positive relations between Shrews and Bucks supporters this is the last thing we need.

Well said Peter - and to think people say you never post anything worthwhile - Good idea about the good relations thing - lets not let this sour it.

taking the p**s out of me is one thing but calling my girlfriend names (whos a shrews fan aswell for god sake) is awful - please keep me updated
and as boss on bucks chat said once again
"hah! lee is with one of your finest, dickwad! obviously shrews fans arent cutting it, so she needs to look elsewhere. go back to infant school, fool. "

Well said Peter - and to think people say you never post anything worthwhile - Good idea about the good relations thing - lets not let this sour it. I posted (and I quote) 'the most sensible thread in ages' on the Swansea board the other day Add that to my 1918 poetry recital on the longest thread and I truly am the gifted, cultured prodigy of B&A ;D

I still say whoever it is should be given the chance online to apologise. Maybe I should have dealt with it first hand and gone straight to Pilch and then Laptop.
Saying all that, posts like that earlier will cost our two clubs extra cash in police costs a portion of the intelligence that is gathered comes off the internet.

Have to say I agree with JP.
The person should have a chance to apolagise. If it is who it is thought to be then as far as I am aware it appears to be out of character, so as such an apology, a warning and the benefit of the doubt should be given.
This can and should be delt with internally, there is no need to involve the police, it was a mindless threat yes, but I dont think it was ment in anyway at all.
Have to apolagise myself for stupidly typing the user name. needless to say I deleated it from one of my posts a few minutes later.
Sorry.

I think you just about covered it all Glyn ;D I think thats worthy of a let off!
And Jules I don't believe the person in question (if it is indeed them) has been online since the incident, but work is definately in progress regarding sorting the issue out.

well someone i know has looked into his ip and knows his place of work and even phone number (dont know how)
so it is someone who works at this place, as the ip would be the same throughout the building i guess
he also found out that he posts monday-friday predominantly so i say we give him to the end of monday to apologise to Jules otherwise he'll be named and shamed and his place of work would easily be passed onto the police along with his name
extreme i know but how would others like their girlfriend insulted like that?

yes he called jules a dog, but thats not the issue. And who are we judge someones taste? After all there are people in this world (quite a lot) who clain Tina from S-Club7 is a minger!!!!!! The issue is what was said later on in that thread. Anyway, something stupid was posted, there is no need to get this person the sack, involved the police (get them cautionedand thus a criminal record?) Non of this is needed. We all post crap in the heat of the moment (just think back to the sniping we did at eachother lee). As far as I am aware this is the first time said person has posted something like this. An apology, when person comes online (and knows what sort of storm they've cooked up) and a private repremand from ant/pilch should be enough. After all the said person'll be publically humiliated infront of their peers. There is no need to get someone the sack and involve the police. I think we may be over reacting just a little, there has been worse things posted in the past.

Lee my girlfriend got harrased at the Colwyn Bay game by a group of lads, she was big enough to pull me to one side and and agree with her to rise above it.
everyone can see the post for the s**te it is. Nuff said and I'm sure jules' would agree.
And since when has it been a criminal offence to call someone elses girlfriend a dog? This is not reason enough to involve the authorities outside of B+A (ant and pilch)

im on about an apology to jules for what he said - the matter for the police is the fact he said he will come and stab us all as saying that on the internet is illegal surely. yes its been blew out of proportion a bit and i couldnt care about what he said about me as my response on their suggests - inciting violence isnt the way forward. catling did the same on our board and everyone had a hissy fit, he then apologised
i want him to apologise to jules first and foremost as he has never met her and had no reason what so ever to include her in his post - she is a shrewsbury fan for god sake! all for one and all the s**t!
our sniping was at least a bit constructive!

When Catling (A FORMER STFC FAN I AM TOLD!!!) said that he hoped us STFC fans would have the s**te kicked out of us, or words to that effect, were people demanding that the police be contacted? NO He posts something mindless and stupid in the heat of the moment (as we all do, but maybe not that extreme) and there is talk of reporting him? Do people realise the concequences of reporting him? Do they really equate to what he did??? Yes he should apolagise to jules (is she asleep in the kennel? *) But that is a side issue at the moment. For crying out loud it would appear that he hasnt even been back on the internet yet. So lets give him a chance to ammend his mistake. If he doesnt by all means denounce him, ban him, but report him? * just pulling your p**ser

i havent demanded he be sent to the police!! but his details are available if he doesnt apologise or comes back with more garbage to spout if he says sorry to jules then im fine with it - i wouldnt report him to the police but i had the offer of his telephone number today and declined as that is taking it to far basically he is just a silly c.u.*.t and skip is definetly a thingy
