Tell you what Ant that game will not happen again at the Meadow. I was told that the Chairman has got a real problem with Shakey, his shop, the retro shirts, his charity dinner(which nobody from the club supported), using Tolley and Rodgers in his advertising and helping organise the talks for the museums exhibition (was it something to do with Jake King coming back). Seems to have a real problem with him but if you see Shakey he won't be drawn on the subject Only to say he is off to watch Man United on Tuesday and not our game

If it was'nt for that charity match @ the GM Mrs Telford_Shrews would not of wondered where she could buy her " dream Team" top or wonder what the hell i dragged her to that museum thingy for, As for you MBS, i think your sad give the club a little credit, you come accross as some kind of train spotter.

No wind up and Mr Telford chap i am not a train spotter. Just what i have heard from somebody at the club, not a source close to the club but somebody there, from within Just wanted to know if anyone else had heard. If its try it's a disgrace. Who does RW think he is?

I've heard rumours along these lines before.
I know that the club told the museums that they would be pleased to help with the exhibition/talks in anyway that they could, hence the talks taking place at the meadow.
It was only after the first talk (the one with Jake King) that the club decided to invoice the museum for the use of the room (over £70 for an uncleaned room, which they had to share for one week, despite insufficient seating and relocation for one week)
Good to see that the club supports Shakeys charitable cause,

Why? If this sort of thing is going on then surely we need to know why and what is the problem. The defence of the board is somewhat suprising. Interesting to see how people are when Luke is sold. Short memories for some As i expected, ignore it, it just might go away.

Heard the same thing myself.
Seems some are a bit twitchy with Shakey still around. Does he still post on here Ant?
Don't think we will get him to comment though.

No smoke without fire.
And as I've posted before. No club representation at an evening which welcomed back McGinlay, Brown, Kelly and Eagle.
Shocking.

This is a joke right? If it is not then some questions need to be asked of Wycherley. Shakey did more for the profile of STFC in the time he was there than RW has done in 7 years. All we have seen in that time is, successful financial management (apparently ) and a very unsuccessful team get relegated twice. Defend him all you want but look at the facts. If it's a popularity contest there will be only one winner, maybe thats why it hasn't come out yet.

No he does not Sean, great observation. But wasn't it you that wanted him to become a fan and come and join us?
Well maybe RW does not want that to happen.
"not to set foot in the club again" was i believe Wycherley's comment. So he does not want him supporting the club either?
Why? Just ask yourself what law he may have broken.

I've heard similar things. The club weren't to happy about Shakey using Tolley and Rodgers for promoting Shakey's shop. Again from what I here, and I would like to point out that this is very much alleged before people start sueing me, that the club told Shakey that they are contracted under image rights for Shrewsbury Town. From what I then gather alleged, the club were told how the hell can Conference footballers have image rights? The club are *ed because the 80's retro shirt sold so well, and none of that money is going STFC's way. Ok, yes you can understand there point however the question to ask is why the clubs previous merchandising employee get off his backside and do something like this? To be fair anyone could have done that retro shirt and made a packet. At least it's going to charity. Did the club look into it before. No! STFC board can't have there cake and eat it. Which appears to be what is happening here! However having said all that, there does seem to be a lot of wire crossing. Over the room hire, it sounds like it would be assumed that as it was for charity the room hire was for free. However the club, again alleged were well *ed when they found out Jake King was back @ the Meadow. To be honest it's all a bit silly if you ask me, a lot of posturing and 'your not doing the right thing' ;and could be sorted quite easily. But once again, for all the good work STFC does, it gets undermined by petty jealousy, envy, and a lack of understanding, proper business planning, and just good old plan common sense. As someone said to me recently - don't be scared to ask the right questions, even if your scared of the right answers!!

MBS - I know more than I'm saying - and no doubt less than the whole truth.
Simon has kept the fans' spirits up at a time when nowt else was going right. His successful fight against a life threatening illness and return to work was a great filip.
One thing he has done since leaving the club is he has matched his actions to words. Firstly with the retro shirt and the charity match and then with the evenings with old players. Both have shown the way. There's nothing wrong with a little bit of competition, and it puts a nice bit of pressure on the club - by gentle example - which the umbrella group should (and I think is) taking some notice of.
Meanwhile those activities have reconnected the fans with the club's history and helped to restore morale by hearing the things old players say about the club.
Where I think you may be wrong is in confining the criticism to RW. I don't think that he is the only one.
I hope Simon retains his shape on this one and continues to plough his furrow - he's got it right.
Anyway MBS you're obviously a regular on this board - you're not SMS are you?

the simple answer is for someone to ask RW if there are any truth in these rumours
i'm sure he will say they are nonsense and shakey is as welcome as anyone

I have no sources at the club, but this is not so surprising. We know Shakey is mates with Ratcliffe, not a Chic Bates fan and did not want to stay as physio.
There is clearly an uneasy relationship.

Maybe the chairman thinks that sales of the retro shirts have knocked sales of the Town shirts.
If this false its a nasty rumour.

But if it hadn't been for Simon there wouldn't be any replica shirts.
How many years have TOFFS been going?
How many years is it since Spinal Tap was released?

Heard that the chairmam was none to pleased with Shakie about his shop ,profile and his popularity ,could be he is stealing STFCs thunder by using his buiseness sense,by all acounts not popular! disgraceful pettiness.let the man earn a living, hes done a lot for STFC.and WONT be forgotten by his fans.
