re: the retro shirts
There is nothing stoping STFC ordering a batch of retros from TOFFS and selling them in the club shop and making a profit off them.

Does anyone know if TOFFS pay a royalty on each of their sales as they use club crests? Lots of speculation has been flying around about who likes or doesn't like who - probably too much - and certainly unsubtantiated to any definite degree. Would love to know the answer to this question as I could see that being a potential touchy area but also an interesting point to clarify.

Whoops! I feel another question for the commercial group coming on! Why did that guy with the stained glass need permission to do the crest then?
I could understand why the club could be a bit put out on the retro shirt front in that case (IF they are) - even if it was self inflicted to a degree and they should have been available from the club years ago.

So there is nowt stopping Shrewsbury Town from releasing their own versions of retro shirts then, they should get it sorted as I'm sure they will be a big favourite with the supporters...there miles better than anything they have given us in the recent past (with the one exception of the Patrick blue and amber stripe). Retro shirts appeal as they are both fashionable and timeless...unlike the newer shirts which fade in both quality and appeal...I'm sure sales would be worth the investment. Indeed, there a nice reminder of happier times!!
If TOFFS can get the shirt and badge produced then surely the Town can too...I would think they have the ideal partner in MG Sportswear to help? Mind you, saying that, you just know that Town would bugger it up some how. ;D

The club would probably expect the supporters to stump up the initial dosh to get it all sorted.
stutty you also forgot our Argentina shirt, made by Patrick, in time it'll become a classic.

Sorry but all this talk of retro's is rather getting away from the original point. Is it true that Wycherley and now Quinn want Shakey well and truely out the way? If so why? and if there is not a good reason for this do we as supporters find it acceptable? Or are we going to do what we always seem to do, just ignore it and it might go away. I for one want an answer to this, it's not only damaging to our club but damaging to Shakey, who imo does not deserve it. I will most certainly finding out Wycherley tonight and asking the questions. Mr Plan B better not get in the way. Can't stand bully's or cowards

At last, somebody asking the questions that need to be asked.
Do we want to know and do we care ? Well i do and would like to know if any of it is true.
The silence from others is deafening.

Well I don't know Shakey having never met the lad and I don't know the chairman either...so in my book that makes in none of my business...

It is a bit daft all this speculation.
I used to work for a computer distributor and now I work for a reseller who deal with them. My old boss aint to happy about dealing with me as I know all their buy prices and what I can push them down to. Also didn't get on with each other so he is never pleased to see me.
Don't think the Shakey and Roland situation is too different, except for the fact it is in a more well known about profession. I happens everywhere, so there is no point in rumour mongering, and just let it be.
I'm sure they can sort it out themselves

What is it that Shakey wants from the club, other than to attend matches ?
Just to put the clubs's side for once, Shakey did have a job there which he chose to leave. As far as I am aware he was not sacked.
Is it not a bit unusual to go back to previous employers for help/favours etc. ?

I think the guy with the window for the door asked out of courtesy. Not copyrighted. Apparently too expensive.
Sib is working on a retro shirt, but the early 70's one - sort of reverse of the current Arsenal away. A bit like the Southend early 70s TOFFS shirt.

Remember Shakey's "hilarious" column in the programme where he would poke fun at various verbal faux pas made by players and staff at the Meadow?
Some of it was funny, some of it pathetic and most of it quite childish really. I was always surpised he was allowed to write it.
I dare say some of the staff didn't find it that amusing. In fact I remember once a few lines appeared in the programme from one upset target ticking him off for causing some kind of offence.
Clearly Shakey is not everybody's cup of tea and he's upset some folk.
It's easy to see why a non-footballing member of staff would upset people like Jimmy and Chic. Frankly I'd trust their judgement every time.
Having said that Shakey is entitled to sell shirts and stuff and good luck to him in his post STFC career.
