I thought GP was excellent answered every question openly and honestly and on occasions with great humour As long as he stays in charge I for one feel very optimistic about the future Among other things he confirmed Ashton would sign up for next season and gave persuasive (to me anyway) reasons why it was time for Darren Sam and luke etc to move on He obviously leads the board rather than the other way round!

I left at 9:30 and it seemed he still had plenty to say having already said plenty.
I wonder what aspect of the club he is happy with sometimes.
He is confident that he can get three forwards in for Luke's salary and they will be better players than Luke.

GP talks the talk and I for one believe he can walk the walk. He is realistic and is asking us to be realistic, give young players time to bed in and encourage fellow fans not to get on their backs at the first mistake, hes not stupid if he thinks they are not the part he will not play them.
For the first time in many seasons I am very optomistic that we have a game plan not just too survive but to put us back into our rightful place as a very strong division 1 side(old div 3)
I believe GP MW and his team are the ones to get us there roll on 6th August!!

Any more snippets or are the majority of people still there listening to GP 1. Duane Darby - he has osteo-anonymous and GP didn't seem clear at this point whether or not he would play again. 2. Joe Hart is a better goalkeeper than Scott Howie. 3. That Walton, Darby and Smith are here on big wages clearly weighed heavily on the retained "list". 4. He thinks we're going to miss Darren Tinson next year but he couldn't give hm a contract to match his current contract whilst not being able to say he would be a first choice centre back. In fact he kept returning to Darren Tinson throughout the night commenting on how right we were to appreciate what an excellent player he had been for us. 5. In the five months here am Aiston has not done enough - objectively - to be given a contract. GP regretted this as he considers Sam a lovely individual to have around the place (slightly different view from a previous manager). he usedto hope that Sam git fouled so that there was a much better chance of getting a better cross in to the box from a free-kick. 6. Jamie Tolley needs to add things to his play that David Edwards has - goalscoring and heading. 7. The squad is tremendously fit - fitter than any other he has been associated with - and again that has been objectively tested. 8. Five year objective - he would be happy with being established in the division above. (So the 60s not the 80s are the benchmark - quite correct too.) 9. Towards the end of the conference season there was a period of panic and people were brought in on high wages and long contracts tying the club's hands. 10. Langmead isn't ready to play the number of games he has played. 11. There are a number of options for training pitches including the Sundorne Sports Village but if all else fails the Chairman will be paying for Lileshall. 12. The training pitches at sundorne will need to be properly prepared and maintained on a daily basis during the season rather than the currently weekly basis. 13. He is looking at a player who he considers to be a talker and a leader on and off the pitch for the football club. 14. Scouting for recruits to the youth set-up has to be better and farther afield. 15. You've managed a top half finish in any football league division just once in the last ten years. People who have been around the club for any length of time have nothing to be really proud of.

Old hangars around Heathrow. It has been around for a while.
All this talk of PDP's taking ownership etc it was like being back at work. The only thing he didn't mention was quarterly 1 to 1's and annual performance reviews

Emma, look at our three previous managers:
Jake King, a guy that did everything and claimed he could do everything thus making the job too hard for himself. Kevin Ratcliffe, someone who let the players do what the hell they liked. Let players train anywhere else, plus he was the manager that us down. Jimmy Quinn, maybe the guy who brought us back, but he would rather play golf than train his players.

Like others I've been impressed by his direct approach he could be our best manger for a long time but in the end though he'll be judged by results on the pitch just like the others -which is what did for the last 7 managers.
It will be interesting to see if fans are as patient next year if the team starts to struggle.
