The midweek results went towns way and now port vale have the same GD as town, Cambridge have a game in hand and are one point behind town Cambridge play Charlton next who have drawn the last four games one of which was against Fleetwood. Let us hope they do a better job against Cambridge.

Port vale haven't put a very strong side out today. They have left a few players that are regulars in the team out like tom sang, James Wilson, Mitch Clarke and Dan Jones. They have also left there second top scorer in chislett on the bench and put in 2 youth team players in Walters and plant. So there by the looks of it taking this loss as it comes and focusing on a more winnable game at home to Exeter on Saturday and then at home to Wycombe next Tuesday. I can see the logic of this but that is still a big gamble, one benefit for town is that due to losing by 3 goals they have the same GD as us. If the plan backfires I can't see the fans been happy.

I've never actually checked but I heard some Spanish sides do that when they play the likes of Madrid & Barcelona

Both could do with a point or two just to be sure. I'd like to finish above them but if we dont it's no real worries. It's of much more interest with what Burton Cheltenham and Vale do in the last few games that will determine who goes down. I'm not sure which two it will be but none of them are showing much signs of picking up enough points to 9overtake oir current 46.

Fully expect pretty low odds for next seasons relegation for town Just had a peep on a couple of sites - they now have us between 18/1 and 21/1 against relegation. They would not be that generous if they thought there was even a whiff of a chance of us dropping. So, after dropping to 8/1 against relegation following the Wycombe horror show, the Bolton result coupled with those of the teams around us has seen us drift out to 33/1 now.
