6 more points deducted then I'd imagine. Plus the 4 points that were suspended when they were originally deducted 6 points. This is giving Morecambe more hope every week.

Surely if the EFL state that the games off the games off. Macc can’t do anything about it. This bloke I haven’t heard of before but is surely just as delusional as Dale at Bury.

What a Christmas Macclesfield are having 😕 Their financial plight certainly won't be helped by the loss of today's game. Tough times indeed for them 😕

From a Macclesfield fan:-
"Our owner is only looking after his own selfish interests, and the EFL is only interested in preserving the integrity of the league structure regardless of the welfare of individual members. They seem to set little store by the history and tradition of many smaller clubs in existence long before they arrived on the scene.
Bury and Macc aren't the only clubs in trouble. There has to be a better way than this, and, if there isn't, the future of lower league football is extremely bleak".

Yep, i can see Macc facing more points deductions. To be fair its only right that a club should do if they fail to play a game. SO WHY ARE BOLTON TREATED DIFFERENTLY, Come on FL, answers please.

And why is it taking so long for the EFL's appeal against the Independent Disciplinary Tribunal's decision not to deduct any points from Bolton to be heard?

The appeal was lodged on 22nd November. One month later nothing has been done.

Wow. This is Bury all over again. www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/12/25/macclesfield-town-club-breaking-point-broken-promises-unpaid/"The club have no training ground after they were kicked out of Egerton Football Club in Knutsford, and latterly off a school playing field, for failure to pay bills. Tired of the way Alkadhi has run things, around 50 sponsors, partners and benefactors, including shirt sponsors Arighi Bianchi, are understood to have turned their backs on the club since they won promotion back to the Football League under revered former manager John Askey 20 months ago, taking hundreds of thousands of pounds in commercial income with them. Previous kit suppliers, Umbro and Macron, walked away after threatening legal action, eventually settling disputes out of court. Sol Campbell, the former manager, is owed more than £180,000 in unpaid wages. To date, Askey has received just £1,000 of the £200,000 promotion bonus he was promised. HM Revenue and Customs’ bid to have the club wound up over unpaid taxes – a petition backed by Campbell – was recently granted a ninth adjournment in the High Court. Macclesfield will be back there on Jan 15, again pleading for more time to settle their debts". "When Macclesfield sealed promotion against Eastleigh, it the Eastleigh chairman, Stewart Donald, now the Sunderland owner, to buy Askey and his squad a celebratory round of drinks as Alkadhi watched on. Macclesfield’s sponsors would later club together to raise £8,500 to fly Askey and his squad to Majorca on holiday but the goodwill had largely eroded by then, and Askey could take no more when the list of players he wanted to retain for the following season was doctored without his knowledge".

No wonder it was so easy to get Askey to move to us.

Only 1,991 at Moss Road yesterday to watch them play out a draw with Grimsby. At least they have had some match day income, if somewhat limited.

From the Macclesfield Fans Forum:-
"What's really depressing about this is we keep getting lumped in with Bury. A club who were paying their top striker £8k a week in League Two. Where as we, little Macclesfield Town, have survived for years on tiny attendances, the lowest budgets and full teams of volunteers who have worked all hours to keep the club running. Only for it to be destroyed by one man.
But no, the EFL will blame our finances and that will be the end of that. That's how MTFC will bow out. What a legacy".

Sol Campbell has been trying to sell one of his homes in Northumberland for almost 5 years, but no one seems to be willing to get near the £6 million price tag. www.homejournal.com/en/article/25/homes/inside-fiona-barratt-campbells-family-friendly-country-retreatAfter 1 win in 13 games as manager of Southend United, Campbell is expected to be sacked sometime in 2020. Southend will not be likely to be able to pay Campbell the payoff he wants, so Campbell again will be employing Barrister Philip Currie to wind up a Club that was founded over 113 years ago (Macclesfield were founded over 145 years ago).

But to be fair to Mr Campbell he is perfectly entitled to claim compensation irrespective of how long his employer has traded if he is sacked during a fixed term contract

All depends on Campbell's contract I suppose, and whether Southend have inserted any Clause allowing them to terminate it early after giving the requisite notice. But as it's for a fixed term, I don't see they've much chance.
Far better if possible for the Club to offer a rolling contract, which in our case would have avoided having to pay as much compensation as we did to Askey when he was sacked. Mind you, according to the Macclesfield Fans Forum, Askey is still owed nearly £200k promised to him as a bonus for gaining promotion to the Football League.
Lawyers and agents for Managers/Players hold all the cards when negotiating such contracts.

You can see the EFL gameplan here ! Macc already have a suspended 4 point penalty hanging over them and have caused the EFL all sorts of problems in the last 6 months or so. So EFL impose the suspended penalty and Macc are bottom of L2, no doubt a few more opportunities to impose points deductions will come along before the season ends and bang!! Macc are relegated and instantly consigned to the history books....just like Bury Bolton however, well that's a different story

Why do Bolton always seem to be ignored but all the others get the deserved punishment. Its just farcical and the EFL show themselves up in a poor light on a regular basis.

The members of the RFL Board that dealt with Saracens should have been borrowed to sort out the Bolton case. No messing around there.
