I always respected Steve Bruce both as a player and a manager, and he has served his clubs well overall throughout his career. I have also a bit of a soft spot for NUFC, both as a club, and for its fans who deserve so much more; to my mind NUFC are at least as "big" as Liverpool and "bigger" than Aresenal and Everton....having lit the blue touch-paper, I shall now retire from the field lol

Utter nonsense. The bloke was rightly hounded for winning 7 in 38 games. Rafa had that team minus Callum Wilson in the top half. Utter Tripe Mr Martin. Bruce kept Newcastle in the Prem finishing 12th and 13th no worse than the bearded Spaniard. In addition, Newcastle conceded more goals than any other team under Bruce. Shall I continue? The bloke is a nice fella and doesn't deserve the hate, but he's an abysmal manager at Premier League level. He'd probably do a decent job down here.

Charlton Athletic can confirm the departure of Nigel Adkins as the club’s Manager. Johnnie Jackson will take the role of Caretaker Manager and will be assisted by Jason Euell. I guess we must be playing them sometime soon? About time we played another club with a new manager in charge, been a few months now I guess.

Stockport County.
Following a difficult start to the season, the board have made the decision to part company with Manager Simon Rusk.
Simon will leave the club with immediate effect alongside Assistant Manager Mark McGhee, as the club restructures its coaching staff focused on future success and progression.
We would like to thank Simon and Mark for their hard work, integrity, and dedication to the club during their tenure, including last season’s 18 game unbeaten run.
In the interim, First Team Coach Dave Conlon will take the helm, with the support of the wider coaching staff.
No further comment will be made until a new appointment has been made.

Carlisle United have appointed former Bristol City boss Keith Millen as manager on an 18-month deal.
The 55-year-old has extensive coaching experience with Crystal Palace, Blackpool, MK Dons and the Robins, as well as a spell in Sweden with Orgyte.
Millen replaces Chris Beech who left Brunton Park on 10 October, to lead a Carlisle side 22nd in League Two with just two wins from 14 games.
"Keith impressed us all when we met him," chairman Andrew Jenkins said.
"He has a vast amount of experience. He's worked with some excellent clubs and managers in playing, coaching and management capacities, and we feel he has the approach that our players will respond to."
The new manager will continue to work with the existing coaching system at Carlisle.
While Millen has been permanent manager at Orgyte and Bristol City, the latter where he was a player in addition to spells at Watford and Brentford, the majority of his time in coaching has been spent as assistant.
He worked under Neil Warnock, Ian Holloway and Alan Pardew amongst others at Crystal Palace, and Gary Johnson and Danny Wilson while at Ashton Gate with City.
"Keith has got a wealth of knowledge and a lot of contacts in the game," director of football David Holdsworth said. "He knows the position we're in and we're delighted to have him at the club ready to help us climb the league.
"He's a very good coach which is why we've appointed him as our manager. He will manage the players professionally and I'm sure they'll get a lift when they get on the training ground with him.
"All of the final candidates had done their homework on our players and watched a vast amount of our games, as Keith has. He knows the game and he knows what this division is about."

It surely is only a question of time for Doncaster's Manager.

Xavi expected to take over. I know Barca like to keep it in the family, but it doesn't seem like the type of manager they need in this situation. Unless they accept a few years of transition before they can get the best of Gavi, Pedri, Fati et al. Meanwhile antonio Conte strongly rumoured to be the next Man Utd manager

If I was negotiating to become Man U manager the first item on the agenda would be Ronaldo is an impact sub, not a starter and the second, we must sign Declan Rice or similar.

If I was negotiating to become Man U manager the first item on the agenda would be Ronaldo is an impact sub, not a starter and the second, we must sign Declan Rice or similar. You'd be the manager, so you could make those decisions, as can Ole should he wish. I'd imagine Ole starts him because he's far and away the best player that's ever graced the earth. Proven in multiple countries, teams, competitions and tournaments. I'd agree on a DCM, but not Rice. If they signed Kalvin Phillips they'd only be picking the right formation and starting XI away from winning the league. The thought of: Phillips Pogba - Fernandes Sancho - Cavani - Ronaldo Just wept, that's some front six even if a couple are aging. You'd still have Rashford, Greenwood etc in reserve.

Yet, even after the new owners saw Wrexham inaction, I mean in action, Parky is still there. Long may it continue.

Sacking Pochettino, appointing Mourinho and Nuno - when do the men who make bad decisions get sacked?

2 former Shrews players surely under pressure too - Wellens at Donny and Artell at Crewe.
May not be the end of the sackings today.

Sacking Pochettino, appointing Mourinho and Nuno - when do the men who make bad decisions get sacked? The worst decision of the lot by Levy was not letting Kane go to City. He now has a player that is being booed by his own fans for his lacklustre performances, and no way will they now get anything like the money that City were prepared to pay for him.
