Crystal Palace have appointed Patrick Vieira to succeed Roy Hodgson as the Premier League club's manager.
The former Arsenal captain emerged as Palace's preferred candidate after a lengthy process since Hodgson announced he was leaving the club on 18 May.
The 45-year-old Frenchman has signed a three-year contract with the Eagles, who finished 14th last season.
"I am really excited to have this opportunity to return to the Premier League," said Vieira.

Rochdale have appointed Robbie Stockdale as their manager on a two-year deal.
The 41-year-old replaces Brian Barry-Murphy after he left last month at his own request.
This is Stockdale's first managerial role although he has had three spells in caretaker charge at Sunderland.
He served as Paul Heckingbottom's assistant during his time in charge of Hibernian and was on Sam Allardyce's staff at West Brom last season.

6 losses and 1 draw in 7. Don't think anyone is surprised about that. Another club being poorly run. Interested who they get in next, as I'm sure a lot of people they may want will want nothing to do with them

Forest have already employed SC.
SC was appointed as manager on 14 October 2011 on a three and half-year deal. He won four of his first six games in charge. A run of seven games without a goal, during which Forest suffered six defeats left them in the bottom three at the turn of the year. Six consecutive home league defeats, meant by the end of January 2012 Forest were 23rd in the league.
However, from mid February, Forest's fortunes improved. This culminated in Forest finishing 19th and ten points clear of relegation. SC left the club on 12 July 2012. Wiki.
Let's hope SC can do something similar for us in the New Year..

Always remember Barnet as one of the League Two stalwarts, but that seems a thing of the past. Only saved from relegation last season due to covid and doesnt seem to have started this season off any better. Never the sign of a club going well is sacking your manager after 7 games!

Sadly Mr Kewell is not up to Management standard. An assistants job at a bigger club might be a better fit

Carlisle United head coach Chris Beech has left the struggling League Two club after a poor run of form.
Beech's departure followed their 3-0 defeat at Bristol Rovers on Saturday which left them third from bottom.
Assistant manager Gavin Skelton and academy coach Eric Kinder have been put in temporary charge.
"The club would like to thank Chris for his efforts over the past two years and will provide further updates in due course," said a club statement.
Beech, 47, arrived at Brunton Park from Rochdale in November 2019, guiding the club to safety and then to a 10th-place finish last season.
Carlisle lie just two points above the relegation places having taken just one point from their past five matches and two wins this season.

No more sleepless nights for Steve Bruce. He is better off out of it. Good luck to him.

All the best to Mr Bruce
Treated like a dog by the fans.
Sickening to see hundreds of fans run around in their sordid Saudi outfits at the weekend. RIP Mr Kashoggi
To quote Mr Keegan 'I would really love it' to see them go down, even better to League One 'just love it'

Southend United have appointed club legend Kevin Maher as their new manager on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
The 44-year-old made 386 league appearances for the Shrimpers between 1998 and 2008.
Maher, who has left his role as first team coach at Bristol Rovers to take the job, takes over with the club 20th in the National League.
Southend sacked Phil Brown earlier this month after a 4-0 home defeat by Chesterfield.
Maher will be assisted by Darren Currie and Mark Bentley.

Rafa had that team minus Callum Wilson in the top half.

That's nailed on finishing bottom form over a season. He blew the transfer record on a £40m striker who doesn't score. The net spend under Ashley was £130m, 40m is an enormous chunk of that wasted!

And, so I am told, a better win percentage than Benitez in the Premiership Doesn't matter what division you're in: Steve Bruce - 29.2% Rafa Benitez - 42.5% Steve McClaren - 22.6% John Carver - 15% Alan Pardew - 38.4% Chris Hughton - 59.4%
