after two disappointing results, dire defending and mixed performances town face Wycombe at home . with only goal difference keeping town out of a relegation place things could not be tighter town need to turn things around , can Ricketts work some magic ?, can town turn up? can we avoid a third consecutive defeat ?
Wycombe results may not look very good with only one point out of a possible 18 but three of the defeats were against teams in the top seven and the draw was against Sunderland, so that run of results is deceptive.
town cant afford to go behind and then face an uphill battle trying to get back in the game, i have no idea what ricketts can do with the defence but we badly need them to improve.
not my choice but i suspect one of these combination up front Holloway / campbell or Payne / Campbell will Edwards not playing in the week i suspect he will start but i would hope Docherty will i hope Haynes starts as left back and if Bolton is not fit will sears be given a chance as right back with williams and waterfall as centre backs .i know we dont tend to play four at the back but something has to change.
if we are to get something from this game town must start brightly , work harder , be better in defence and play till the final whistle.

Arnold Sears Williams Waterfall Haynes/Beckles Norburn Grant Docherty Whalley Okenabirhie Campbell I reckon it could be another 0-3 hammering with those and that formation

Arnold Sears Williams Waterfall Haynes/Beckles Norburn Grant Docherty Whalley Okenabirhie Campbell I’d go with that unless Bolton is fit. Think it gets the best out of Docherty and Whalley. I’d rather have the 2 strikers down the middle but the wing backs haven’t been as effective in recent weeks even with Whalley there. Would like to see Sadler come back in and be given a chance next to Williams but Waterfall is probably more suited to Wycombe.

I’m sticking with my 4-1-4-1:
My Formation would be 4-1-4-1:
...........................Mitchell
Sears.......Williams...Waterfall....Haynes
........................... Grant
Whalley....Docherty...Edwards..Okenabihrie
.........................Campbell

Weather looks pretty foul for Saturday with heavy rain and up to 40 mph winds, which won't help the match much and could make it a bit of a lottery.
Would like to see Whalley played more as a winger rather than a wing back and pace up front to make the most of any defensive mistakes in the windy conditions

Is it that time of the week again... Lord knows how we'll be set out but just hope we can put in a better display than we did down there early in the season. I think I'd say that was one of the most frustrating afternoons of the season thus far. In it but not quite... Okenabirhie and Campbell must start for me. We have to find a way to get these guys clicking. If we do then I think we are in good shape.

But this is where I’d want them working in pairs. Haynes & Fej, Sears & Whalley, Grant & Docherty, Edwards & Campbell, Waterfall & Williams. Any of them not prepared to put the workrate in, sits on the bench!! Anyway, it’s about time this team made other teams worry about us instead of us worrying about the opposition. Take the game to them. Be positive for a change

Be positive for a change that would be the sensible thing to do and i wish they would do it. but my observation is that in too many games town have played like individuals rather than a team

It's so difficult to know what the best line up is owing to Ricketts constantly changing things around. The only must haves in my opinion is to use Whalley much further forward as a winger not a wing back, play Docherty, play Fej and Campbell up top, leave Edwards on the bench and Golbourne to stay at home. But who knows what Ricketts is thinking? At least that may flummox Wycombe, but it also seems to confuse us too.

Lose this one then I fear no way back, play badly and lose then whilst not condoning it , i would not be surprised if there is some response from the crowd.

Numerous formations and players on here. I agree with Bernard McNally that the best players have to be on the field. Stuff the rotation we need the best players out there. Rotation is ok at premier level but we’ve got to win games and working with equations doesn’t fit at this level and certainly not with the circumstances we have . It’s about time Rickets says to the team either you produce or you go.....end of.

Your not one if the fans that claps politely after the final whistle regardless of the performance are you? Anything short of a win will create a toxic atmosphere, hopefully towards the Executive box.

Akinfenwa is one of the strongest players in football. He gave an interesting interview recently and was asked how he managed to score so many headed goals considering his frame. He stated that it is all about how you use and position your body and not about how high you can jump. Easy for him with the strength hes got. Great character.

Interesting that Ryan Sears name crops up a few times in B&A team selections but when it comes to the crunch Ricketts only sees him as a bench warmer at best.
