Bugger back to 3-2. Henderson beaten from range again - I might be being overcritical but feel a bit disappointed with that.

Yes, I think he was at fault there. If we don't win this, we need shooting.

We don’t need another Doncaster style bungle. A game we were coasting only to blow it for a draw.

They should never have been in the game with the amount of possession and chances we had. We really did make hard work of that. Still, did what we needed to do. All eyes on Pompey. Home win please...

Nerves shredded. We should have been out of sight. Payne ran selflessly but just misses too many good chances. So many good performances and sets us brilliantly for Wembley.

My goodness that was a classic team set up by the odious toad Robinson.
I thought players were not allowed to surround the ref. I think three or more players were around the ref at least ten times in the game.
They looked a decent side when they played it but what niggly rubbish to watch.

best possible response from town , i thought Whalley was towns best player and the ref was oxfords! yet more poor referring and very fussy and inconsistent Lowe gets booked for getting the ball and catches the players , Bolton had an oxford really clatter through nowhere near the ball not even a talking to!!
i dont how this game finished with town only one goal clear .whilst Payne worked hard and pressed the defence he had two golden chances in the box and went for tap in's ,he was one on one with plenty of time and managed to shoot wide. thought Bolton and whalley did some really good link up play , all credit to Beckles as a centre back . Lowe did ok he is young and learning the games looks more convincing going forward than in defence ,saddler ,Thomas and Beckles backed him up against a big players
Bryn mooris worked like a trojan breaking up play unlucky to hit the cross bar. whilst thomas drifted in and out of the game he looked dangerous but was getting frustrated at the lack of supply ,even so a very foolish and avoidable booking as he kicked the ball away. got irritated with oxfords one upmanship , especially there number 8 who was trying to get towns players booked whenever there players went down, one Oxford player made a clear dive player rolling around in agony got our player booked and as soon as refs back was turned sprinted off.
some sloppy defending gifted a goal for Oxford and a rare mistake from Henderson contributed to there second.
a vital win

the groundspeople did a fantastic job , but you could see the way the pitch was cutting up when town were doing there warm up's and when Payne went for a tackle he had a small mini wave from were his hand slide along the ground. the grounds-people deserve a huge amount of thanks and praise, they must have put a lot of hard work into trying the fork the ground to drain of the surplus water.

Strange game! After 40 minutes never expected 5 goals! But then there is always goals against Karl Robinson teams!
Ironic that Payne starts and we scored 3 goals!

Unfortunately, even during a successful season some "fans" still need a hate figure in our ranks. Seems Henderson is for some on here. You get Oxfords second a DEFLECTION?

Bolton had a really good game (my MOTM), as did the two centre backs. Payne was a weird one, he looked really fired-up and on it for the first half hour, then faded and after he missed some good opportunities (including the one-on-one he should have squared for Whalley) seemed to get his head down a bit. Still thought he linked the attack better than he has done in the past, though, and always is more of a goal threat than Carlton, albeit with currently horrendous finishing. As for Henderson's mistake being "rare" - hmm. Happening a bit too often for my liking. He had played well up to then but I definitely felt he should have done better with the goal.

It was the Oxford away game where I actually started to think we might be in with a chance of doing something special this season, and seeing us so dominant against them today was a very nice way to (almost) bookend the season in that respect.
Yes, we made exceptionally hard work of that in the end, but we were the better team from pretty much the first kick to the last. It's actually the most dangerous I've seen us going forward for some time. With some better decision making and a touch of luck we could have been looking at 5 or 6 today, and we might need to start putting more of these away, given the loss of solidity the absences of Ogogo, Toto and Beckles at LB bring.
Some decent performances across the field, with Nolan and Beckles worthy of particular praise. I'm sure he'll have a good career in the game, but at this moment in time Lowe at LB does worry me. Hopefully he'll grow into the role after shaky starts with the same aplomb as the previous two occupants of that spot in the team.
A word on Robinson's Oxford - a disgracefully cynical outfit already, an impressive feat given his lack of time there. The moment where five players harrangued the referee demanding a (admittedly stupidly earnt) yellow for Thomas' kicking the ball away was particularly noteworthy. Will be keeping my fingers crossed for an unlikely relegation.

Can't help thinking that if Oxford had concentrated more on playing football as opposed to falling over a lot and moaning at the ref every 5 minutes, they might have got something from the game. Their number 8 should have been booked for persistent whining, the little t1t.
Anyhooo, well done us, hahaha at them.
My MoM was Godfrey, with mentions to Payne, who worked hard for the team, despite his miss and Morris B.
Henderson needs to concentrate on his game and stop winding up opposition fans. Otherwise, you look a right fool when you let in a speculative shot like he did.
A lot more comfortable than the score line suggests.
