With eleven defenders on the books we are looking a little back heavy. I do understand that at least 3 or 4 of those are wing backs so could feasibly be classed as midfielders too, but unless we get a bit more competition for places in front 2/3rds it could be a long, uninspiring season. I hope that the management team have plans in place to rectify this, as otherwise the 3 midfielders are in for long bloody season. we dont have a kit yet either, maybe we are playing in skins hang on, forget that, silly me its only July 13th Pre-season starts tomorrow and the league starts in 3 weeks. I know that a lot can happen in 3 weeks, but equally naf all can happen. We've both followed the Town for long enough to know that naf all is quite possible.
I trust that we will have some new arrivals, but pre-season is when the team needs to start gelling.

Pre season tells us very little except where we are with fitness. IMO we are still seriously lacking quality in the first 11. If we were kicking off tomorrow I’d be seriously concerned about our league 1 status

In Roland we trust. Just remember who’s ‘plan’ and schedularand budget and leadership were working to.

We seem to be a bit light with forwards, only time will tell how good a squad we have. Personally I don't like small squads as the wheels can fall off if we have too many injuries but this seems to be the way the club has gone.

Think we'll have a good chance playing 3-6-2!

I'll be amazed if we offer any new contracts, and even more amazed if the player signs it.
If we do have PH here next season, it will be a much changed team. Not a bad thing though. I'm not quite of the mindset that players' take months to gel. At this level everyone knows the basics, and doing the basics well wins games. All the teams are in the same boat when it comes to players' 'gelling'.
Looking forward to next season already. It cannot be worse than the last 2 or 3 seasons, even if we are in L2.

I'd be amazed if we offer any of those out of contract a new offer - except possibly Benning who wont be on anything like the rest who's contract are up. There are several who PH could build a team around (that are currently nowhere near their best performances due to the season we have had - ie Marosi, Dunkley, Udoh) but they will be on much higher wages that we cant afford to offer them any contract they will be interested in signing.

I hope we keep Marosi. The players who just walked and jogged against Wycombe should be let go especially bayliss. What is frustrating about him is he can show what a good player he could be for a few minutes but for to many games he is a passenger and we need to players who give us 100% not just a few flashes

You can see if Shipley goes to Birmingham then Benning slots in on the left side.
Get 4 more loans in and we look like we will be able to field a side - just need to see if there are 4 worse teams in the league

Thanks for this. What do you think will be on the bosses shopping list for Jan? After watching us at Walsall in the week we desperately need some full backs
