if we can't sign anyone just play one we already have out of position ;-) Looks like you are getting the hang of this managing a League 1 club on a tight budget malarky - recruit good players who have the ability and mindset to play in another role. its not me who is only just getting the hang of players playing out of position, we used to have threads started about it, even if they only played 1 minute in a different position that they were really good at ;-) |

Imagine having 27 senior players and still playing one totally out of position. |

I'm looking forward to the prospect of Moore learning to play in midfield ,lets hope he hits the ground running in the first league game I hope he is quicker than he was on Tuesday when the same player kept leaving him for dead, lucky for us he couldn't finish to save his life. ;-) |

With Morecambe and Accrington both likely to be competing towards the lower end of the league with us means we need to hit the season running. Agree with 10/12 games but no reason why we can’t be ready now and certainly expect a better start that last season. |

It’s just possible SC upset him, I know hard to believe, and a meeting with MM setting out expectation will make him realise he can come back and play here or find himself another club…. If he’s injured come to Shrewsbury to rehabilitate with our set up. |

Town have Thirty Nine days till we play Cheltenham in our first league game. Between now and then we need to get a manager and assemble a full squad. What players we currently have will have started training, who knows howfit any new players will be and the head of football and manager will need to get the team fit, get them to fully understand whatever style of football we will play .so no pressure !!!

I've updated the squad list including the first year pro's signed from the academy. All 3 are defenders according to this? www.shrewsburytown.com/teams/u18-team/MM spoke about a squad of 20 senior players is what he wanted. So that would leave room for 6 more senior signings and maybe another first year pro similar to Michael Parker to make it up to 25. Bloxham is a young player but is 20 in a couple of months so I think he should be seen as a senior player now having had 2 full seasons as a professional since graduating from the academy. |

I do understand that at least 3 or 4 of those are wing backs so could feasibly be classed as midfielders too, but unless we get a bit more competition for places in front 2/3rds it could be a long, uninspiring season. I hope that the management team have plans in place to rectify this, as otherwise the 3 midfielders are in for long bloody season.
