Episode 16 for this season is the first within the Steve Cotterill era as town struggle to overcome Oxford City in the Cup. The biggest positive (besides some much needed money!) is that Steve got an early and STARK look at just what our problems are at the moment as town limped to the win. We look at the early signs (passing out from back, SC identification of fitness issues), fans returning over the next week and how big of a repair job lies ahead.
We are joined by Andy Davies (Aka Poolieshrew) who brings to the pod once again some behind the closed dressing room door thoughts on a manager transion from his time as a professional footballer.
Thanks for listening

I listened to the last two yesterday as a pre-match warm up. Good listening again...
It would be good to get Andy on again this weekend if he's available and he's been able to to catch both the Stanley and Charlton games. It was interesting to hear his observations on what he was seeing on the pitch when Ricketts was managing and it would be good to hear whether he can already see any difference from last nights and Saturdays upcoming game.👍

EP17 for the season covers new man Steve Cotterills first two league games which both had a late penalty that effected the points output for the week. The first denied us a first home win of the season, the second got us a deserved point vs High flying Charlton. Positive signs, but this 10 game run without a win unfortunately stretches on as we head into a very tricky spell. We also discuss Norburn in 2020/21, the new assistant manager, a return to live football and the availability of pull port butty's at the meadow! finally the penny has dropped, its the players , not the manager ;-)
in fairness bad luck for ricketts with the likes of majik and his injury but then again it was sam who signed rash harry :-0
the only reason i didnt want the sacking apart from the cost was i wanted to know how it would have ended had he stayed, predictable probably but there might have been a twist lol
we'll never know now

I do feel it would be wrong to judge the front lads at the minute, looking to what we have seen up to yet. I guess more so Udoh because he's had more time on the pitch but Cummings too. I just don't think either of them have really been given the chance to impress because we just haven't been able to provide them with a great deal of service or support. A short time after you spoke about Udoh and Cummings you talked about the number of forward balls we've seen from Norburn this season, say no more... If we were seeing chances missed again and again then I'd understand the criticism but having watched the games this season I don't find myself getting exasperated with the forwards, just the general play looking to try and get the ball into them and into the box. The forwards have tended to be playing in isolation with hardly any support and tend to just get crowed out (so it difficult for them to fashion out a chance individually). There was the Cummings miss against Oxford where I thought he should have done better and scored. But other than that, over the 20 or so games we have played, how many decent chances have we seen the forwards waste? I can't think of too many. Not as if their missing them, they're not given them...👍 As always though, a good listen.

Time to squeeze another Salopcast in before Christmas?? HELL YES! Steve Cotterill delivers a THIRD pre Christmas present as we record another fantastic victory on the road this time in Doncaster. We discuss the game, present some mega stats you can discuss with family and friends over the Christmas dinner table (😂) as well as a review of the loan players on the books. Its great to be excited about town again. Where will SC take us next as the season really starts to LIFT OFF! soundcloud.com/salopcast/202021ep20Enjoy Glyn and Ollie (Salopcast)

After the extended break Salopcast is back with lots to cover from the worrying COVID outbreak, FA postponements and reprieve, a good effort at Southampton and a lot of changes in the squad before looking ahead to Sunderland.
Great to be back and we just wait for the return of SC now.

The Steve Cotterill revolution continues apace as town win again, comfortably, 2-0 vs a lack luster Peterborough. Chapman is the star of show with two goals but the whole team, including the new boy Ogbeta have fantastic performances and there are real signs that this season could go somewhere. We are joined by South East Shrews Dan Hough as we also cover the transfer deadline day and have big praise for community spirited Brian Cauldwell!

Just the ONE game to cover this week as we discuss the late postponement of the Ipswich game, but the bulk of this weeks Pod focuses on Steve Cotterills History Boys as they saw off Sunderland at home in a most entertaining fashion (it should have been 3-1!). Fleeting mentions of the Playoffs and more praise for Ogbeta and Chapman and town fan's generosity for the "Get Well Soon" Banner! 👍👍👍👍 soundcloud.com/salopcast/202021ep26

Not the best week and so for the first time in a long time a few critical glances at some of the players who appear to be fading mentally and physically from all that's gone on this season... which is understandable.
More words on Radio Shropshire's "Worst Half Time Ever"™️ and an interesting week coming up!

EP 25 is now live is a banger as Glyn and Ollie take apart a lackluster, shambolic and worring 3-0 loss to Chalrton of all teams! Town are dire and there are a lot of questions about attitude, tactics, players, manager and recruitment! Glyn is not in a forgiving mood and Ollie things the players should hang their heads in shame as he wont even give a top three! Relegation battle - Confirmed!
