When Bradshaw left did we get any compensation? Just A sell on would of been nice as I can see him going for a million plus in January if he carries on scoring. A real cock up losing him.

We paid a small fee and I am led to believe there maybe a 10% sell on fee.
Two very different goals by Tom today , one being an instinctive half volley and the other was an audacious lob from 20 yards, his goals had dried up recently but to be fair he's hardly had a sniff of a chance in the last few games but works so hard for the team.
Great win for you guys today away from home and a clean sheet which will boost confidence.

Well there's a question I've not heard before we got got nothing to very little based on a cock up by town offering a lower contract than he was on which sort of negated any chance of compensation.... It is rumoured that there is a sell on clause but no one really knows but some claim to 1. Heard it from his dad or 2. Are reliably informed by someone who shall remain nameless ........ 3. Haven't really got a clue but made it up.......

There are two very different sides to Tom Bradshaw, one that couldn't stop scoring or one that looked like a total waste of time! I suppose that comes with inexperience and youth, however, hindsight is a wonderful thing! At the time we got rid of him he had a good start to the season but had a very torrid winter which eventually got cut short due to an injury. Prior to that he had probably about a 10-15% success rate when he was playing per season, I would say that's not really good enough.
When you look at it now, maybe we should have kept him but at the time I believe it was the right thing to do! That said, I hope he keeps doing what he's doing and turns into a cracking player!

Good post Fran. We played hoofball to him, what did we expect? Certainly showed glimpses of his talent and we should have offered him a better contract. No doubt a lot of our fans will be having a big slice of humble pie, especially the ones who constantly got on his back at games. Onwards and upwards anyway, these things happen in football.

Not sure what you mean by 'right thing to do' or 'at the time we got rid of him'? We offered a contract and he turned it down, we wanted to keep him but got the contract wrong to either keep him or get compensation for him, he was ofskie due to the treatment he got from the club and a percentage of fans who made him unwelcome to say the least...... but as we say weekly good luck to the lad

Has he managed to stay stood up for a whole game yet? Always seemed to fall over when near a player and a match official was near... Mind you got us plenty of free kicks from it

From dail mail Birmingham City are poised to make an opening £750,000 bid for Walsall striker Tom Bradshaw.
Sportsmail revealed this week that a clutch of clubs were following the 23-year-old who earned a call-up to the Wales national squad last week.
Bradshaw has scored nine goals this season and that has alerted the likes of Cardiff, Sheffield Wednesday and Rangers but Midlands rivals Birmingham are pressing ahead with talks and want to sign him in January.
Walsall are third in League One, two points off the leaders with a game in hand. Manager Dean Smith is keen to hold on to Bradshaw but a strong offer could be difficult to refuse.

Good Luck Tom Bradshaw.
Another of Nigel Vaughans 'golden crop' making a great career in the professional game.

Thanks. Great start for you and hope you can keep it up Thankyou and hope you guys do well. Will be at your place soon and looking forward to one of your amazing pies lol Unfortunately, we've now changed the caterers. So if it was the Cottage Pie you were looking forward to, then there aren't any nowadays. And good luck establishing what the 'pie of the day' is.

Tom Bradshaw is s**t and wouldn't make a decent striker in a millions years. What's more, he certainly isn't the kind of player we want here right now. Isn't that right most of you!

Too right, bloke couldn't score in a brothel! Or is that a prerequisite for being a Town striker in recent years.......

No. He'd be ideal to play with Barnett, and possibly Collins too. Plenty of knock downs and headers on for him to latch on to.

We have the same thing regarding Sawyers who is easily one of the most gifted footballers in L1 yet a few Walsall fans do not rate him. Obviously it did not work for Tom at Shrewsbury but has here, it happens alot in football. 33 goals since start of last season proves he has something about him.

Some players are a good fit at particular clubs but not at others. Jamie Cureton has scored for fun wherever he has been, but couldn't buy a goal here. Holt was a write off at Forest but regained his confidence here and went on to succeed in the Prem and was even talked about as an England possible. TB was poor here and kicked on down the M6 but if and when he moves on it will be interesting to see jf he continues or if the goals dry up. Time will tell.

Sorry, my sarcasm seems to have been taken literally. I liked Bradshaw. Always had potential but was part of a really s**t team and like others at the moment, never got a regular place. He also was off for a while if my memory serves with a bad injury.
My point is he was a decent prospect who fell foul to the short sighted club policy at the time and utter lack of patience of supporters. He has developed and certainly has an eye for goal.
Many on here (certainly not me)had nothing but insults for Bradders and I for one hope they are enjoying now eating their words as he helps Walsall, one of our closest rivals, push for a place in the championship!

Top post. He clearly had potential but many fans already wrote him off as age 20/21, which is bizarre. I can remember many games where we would just hoof the ball up top to him, the lad had no chance. Extremely poor decision by Jackson and Mellon to give him a poor contract offer too. Where was the harm in giving an academy graduate with a lot of experience and potential at age 21 a 2 year contract and a pay rise? Also some of the abuse Bradshaw got at games was unbelievable too, it was actually embarrassing at points. Fair play to the lad, I hope he goes on to big things, always rated him. Good batch of academy graduates coming through in recent years though with Gray(£6 million move, in Championship) Humphrey(Championship) ,Taylor (400k move, League One),Goldson (600-800k move Championship) ,Woods (£1 million move Championship),Bradshaw (20 goal a season striker League One), Ginnelly (tribunal, Championship) and Smith (first team League One). High hopes for Rowley,Burton,Anderson,Jones etc!

Badly mistreated Matter of opinion. I saw every game he played and after a bright start he did not live up to the potential he showed. Various managers stuck with him but he did not put in the effort required to keep his place in the team. No-one would have been surprised if he had been released earlier but he was retained in the hope that he would repay the faith of the management. He needed a move and has grasped the opportunity so good luck to him
