Dear all,
I'm doing a project at work which just so happens to require some Shropshire local dialect. The more unintelligible the better please with their meaning.
The ones I know of include...
How do owd lad? - How are you mate? Alright mon? Alright mate.
Thanks in advance.

I was watching the Danish drama 'Legacy' last week and the Danish word for home sounds very much like the Salop 'wum', as in 'gyun wum' for going home.
Did the Norsemen get as far as Salop?

watch the 1949 film "gone to earth" by mary webb, starring Jennifer Jones and David Farrar for genuine Shropshire dialect.

Many years ago, my uncle had the broadest Shropshire accent I have ever heard. As a child I found him almost unintelligible, and even when I was a teenager it was difficult to make out what he was saying a lot of the time. "Ow Bist ow'd jockey ?" was almost his catch phrase, and he was always referring to Jockeys and wenches, although I didn't discover until much later that wenches was a highly derogative term in other parts of the country. I still remember the slap across the face to this day!
