No wonder Lawrence has a nice motor. He probably doesn't need what we pay him ...

Wow. Clubs should really write relegation clauses in to the players contracts as a standard practice.

That's why we can afford Liam Lawrence!
Thank you Mr Redknapp!

Is that an agreement on what they still owe? Even when those players signed it seems bizarre to give them such long contracts considering there age at the time.
Yet Football league rules require Football Creditors to be paid before organisations such as the ST John's who were basically told they could ''go and whistle''for their debt.

Hmm, strangely familiar. Sure I saw something a bit like this recently but it's late and I might have dozed off during the news ...

So effectively Pompey are paying Lawrence to play for us, and help us be a serious contender against Pompey.
Love it!

Seems like we striking a similar, albeit smaller deal with FGR for Mangan who has 2 years remaining on a 3k per week deal.
We will soon have 4 relatively expensive strikers on our books with only one of them who has sell on potential.
Thankfully RW scrapped his 'Money will be available for a player who we can develop' transfer policy from last season.

That's just crazy money some of those lads are getting and that's not even their day job. Might well put a few bob on Pompey to get promoted in three years time but in the mean time I think they'll struggle with all that weighing them down. Once that is cleared though...

Really excited by this season and by the players we have signed and the money invested but like any investment it doesn't come without risk, and an awful lot will depend on MM'S ability to motivate his players and his other managerial skills I guess that is always true though

Yes, you maybe on to something there...

Particular kudos must go to you for not rounding out the pennies. Who'd have noticed? That's real dedication (or a particularly slow morning)!

No wonder they got in trouble if they paid about half a million quid to a retired ex-Salop player turned fitness trainer, however legendary his status
